Figure 10 displays the knee arthroplasty surgery SSI rates since 2003. As can be seen and<br />
represented by ‘n’, most patients having knee arthroplasty fall into risk category 0 or risk<br />
category 1. The 2006 rate for risk category 0 has increased since 2005, but decreased in risk<br />
category 1. The more volatile rates in risk category 2 may be influenced by the smaller number<br />
<strong>of</strong> patients in this category, which is supported by the wider confidence intervals. Seventeen<br />
hospitals submitted data for this procedure.
