Spectral Transformation in cvel and clean
ALMA data come usually in the TOPO frame.
When transforming from TOPO to a different frame, cvel and clean
will perform software-Doppler-tracking
= time-dependent regridding of the visibilties,
even if number of channels and resolution don't change!
Reference point of time is the first observation of the field in question.
Necessary for essentially all scientific analysis.
Typical syntax to get maximum resolution and not discard any data:
cvel or clean (..., mode='channel', nchan=-1, width=1, start=0, outframe='LSRK')
these are the default and can be omitted
your choice
