In Our Veins – Over the course of our history, we have built strengths in finding and exploiting mineral wealth and in consistently getting the most out of the mines we develop and operate. By now, these skills are not only a unique competitive advantage, they are part of HudBay’s DNA. Exploration Our senior exploration team brings more than 230 years of combined experience studying volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) and porphyry mineral deposits. They have become specialists in applying innovative geophysical techniques to identify prospective targets as deep as 700 to 800 metres below the surface. Their mineral deposit discoveries have earned them two Bill Dennis Awards from the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC). Learn more on page 16. mine Development We have developed 26 mines in the Flin Flon Greenstone Belt, and have become particularly adept at driving underground ramps. While mine building is a complex process, our thorough understanding of the best ways to address the challenges associated with designing, permitting, financing and building projects equips us to bring mines into production on time and on budget. Operations HudBay’s operating mines and processing facilities consistently meet production targets and cost objectives. The key to this success is the 1,300 employees at our Flin Flon/Snow Lake operations, who have been with the company for an average of 19 years. We operate to the highest health, safety, quality and environmental standards, and have a strong performance-oriented culture – a key component of which is focused on continuous improvement at every stage of the process.
