Dear Mr. Johnson:<br />
As requested by the <strong>Village</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Huntley</strong> (<strong>Village</strong>), Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd.<br />
(CBBEL) is pleased to submit this proposal for pr<strong>of</strong>essional engineering services related to<br />
the design <strong>of</strong> roadway lighting on Kreutzer Road from Plymouth Lane to Princeton Drive.<br />
<strong>Included</strong> in this submittal is our Understanding <strong>of</strong> the Project, Scope <strong>of</strong> Services and<br />
Estimate <strong>of</strong> Fee. The contact person for this project will be Mr. Anthony DeRicco, PE, Head<br />
<strong>of</strong> the Electrical Section in our Rosemont, Illinois <strong>of</strong>fice. Mr. DeRicco may be contacted at<br />

UNDERSTANDING OF THE PROJECT<br />
The Illinois Department <strong>of</strong> Transportation (I DOT) is currently designing roadway construction<br />
plans which would extend Kreutzer Road from Plymouth Lane to IL Route 47 in the <strong>Village</strong><br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>Huntley</strong>. This I DOT project is targeted for an April 26, 2013 Letting. The <strong>Village</strong> wishes to<br />
design and construct roadway lighting for this new road concurrently with the roadway work,<br />
but under a separate contract.<br />
The new portion <strong>of</strong> Kreutzer Road is proposed to be a local road under <strong>Village</strong> jurisdiction,<br />
same as the existing portion. Design and construction <strong>of</strong> the roadway lighting will be locally<br />
funded, therefore only a <strong>Village</strong> review <strong>of</strong> the proposed lighting design will be required.<br />
The lighting design will be in accordance with current <strong>Village</strong> standards and will match the<br />
existing lighting to the north and east <strong>of</strong> this project. The design will include new roadway<br />
lighting poles, luminaires, metal foundations, HOPE duct, and wire. The lighting system will<br />
be owned and maintained by the <strong>Village</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Huntley</strong>. The lighting design submittals will be in<br />
accordance with lOOT's "District 1 General Guidelines for Lighting Design" and the
