Overview<br />
<strong>Heriot</strong>-<strong>Watt</strong> University staff, Dr. David Flynn and Mr Jens Kaufmann, have developed a<br />
device that can m<strong>on</strong>itor a range of parameters designated by <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> customer e.g. temperature,<br />
pressure, humidity, displacement etc in real-time and display <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> recorded informati<strong>on</strong> <strong>on</strong><br />
Windows, MacOS or Linux desktop computer as well as any iOS based mobile platform.<br />
An agile design and manufacturing methodology means that sensing, packaging and data<br />
transmissi<strong>on</strong> are tailored to <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> specific requirement of <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> customer, with a turnaround time<br />
that is unheard of in <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> industry. This technology is suitable for any applicati<strong>on</strong> that requires<br />
real-time health and c<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong> m<strong>on</strong>itoring; example applicati<strong>on</strong>s include renewable power<br />
generati<strong>on</strong> sites, petroleum downhole m<strong>on</strong>itoring and civil infrastructures.<br />

mitigati<strong>on</strong> of <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> risks associated with failure mechanisms due<br />
to <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> ability to perform analysis <strong>remote</strong>ly. The technical benefits<br />
include <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> sourcing of previously unavailable data by a simple<br />

of bespoke sensor systems.<br />
Enquiries from investors are also welcomed. UK companies (or<br />
overseas companies with a UK presence) may be eligible for UK<br />
government financial support to develop this technology.<br />
