Michelle and Barry lived in a Housing Association rented flat in East
Dulwich for over 20 years. They started saving towards buying a
house, but soon realised that prices were spiralling out of their reach

buy through shared ownership, but they weren’t
very helpful. They kept offering us new-build flats
which were pretty similar to what we were living
in but three times more expensive!
