Naples Yellow on the 

rim

Description: Back of rim is completely glazed 

in a lime green color. Luster on back of the 

rim is strong. Luster on the front of the 

sherd is dull. Between the rim and the body, 

there are two parallel lines that are part of 

the craftsmanship of the vessel.

Damages: Soil deposits found on body and center area 

of rim. A lot of pinholing found on the body. Crazing 

occurs on the rim.

instrument. 


Chipped Glaze: Crawling is found on the rim where the 

sgraffito marks become fewer. Wear and tear is 

prevalent along the perimeter of the sherd.

Scratches: Superficial scratches visible on rim and are 

approximately 0.3 centimeters long. 

Chipped Glaze: Crawling is occurring between the body 

and rim of the sherd. Crawling found on left side of the 

rim beneath the arch of the last sgraffito marking.
