DHS Systems is a $210M military shelter manufacturing
company that began in 1984 in response to a
request to build quickly-deployable, lightweight
military field hospitals. By 1997, the company was
awarded both GSA and DSCP military contracts.
Since then, DRASH shelters and trailers have been
used extensively by all branches of the U.S. Military
and by the armed forces of Australia, Austria,
Germany, Israel, Japan, Norway, Singapore, Spain,
Turkey and the United Kingdom.
Non-Department of Defense customers include the
FBI Hostage Rescue Team, Crisis Response Unit
and Evidence Recovery Teams, the Department of
Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, the National Disaster
Medical System, and many Federal and State
government offices in the United States. Currently,
more than 17,000 shelters and over 7,500 trailers
have been deployed worldwide with U.S. and NATO
Forces.
DHS Systems has two primary facilities. Its
headquarters and 110,000 square foot shelter manufacturing
facility are located in Orangeburg, New
York (20 miles south of West Point). A 130,000
square foot facility in Huntsville, Alabama serves as
its trailer and communications equipment manufacturing
facility as well as its technical support and
customer service headquarters. Other regional
support facilities are located throughout the United
States and around the world.
