England, in 1812. His family was quite rich and
young Dickens was really happy. He liked
reading. He wanted an education. When Dickens
was 12, his father went to prison because he had
debts to a baker. So young Dickens was sent to
work in a blacking factory. He felt very sad for
this. However he had talent, desire, drive and a
strong belief in himself. That’s why he managed
