discussing with your mo<strong>the</strong>r or explaining to<br />
your boss. Remember, <strong>the</strong>re is nothing private<br />
<strong>on</strong> social media – all your posts and comments<br />
may be traceable.<br />
Use a disclaimer. If you publish <strong>on</strong> a third-party<br />
website or a pers<strong>on</strong>al blog, use a disclaimer<br />
similar to: “The informati<strong>on</strong> posted <strong>on</strong> this<br />
[blog/website] is my pers<strong>on</strong>al opini<strong>on</strong> and does<br />
not necessarily represent <str<strong>on</strong>g>IFAD</str<strong>on</strong>g>’s positi<strong>on</strong>s,<br />
strategies or opini<strong>on</strong>s.”<br />
Write what you know. When writing about<br />
agriculture and rural development-related<br />
issues, write in <strong>the</strong> first pers<strong>on</strong> and stick to<br />
your areas of expertise. When writing about<br />
an <str<strong>on</strong>g>IFAD</str<strong>on</strong>g>-related topic <strong>on</strong> which you are not <strong>the</strong><br />
topic expert, make it clear to your readers, or<br />
co-author <strong>the</strong> piece with <strong>the</strong> topic expert.<br />
