Experience and Achievements<br />

Research<br />

Since 2005, my research interest and actual research work has been on the following areas:<br />

1. Agricultural policy analysis and the economics of sustainable smallholder farming<br />

systems in SSA.<br />

2. Small holder farmers access to high value agricultural markets.<br />

3. Access to appropriate technology by resource-poor farmers in Sub-Saharan Africa.<br />

4. Biofuels, interactions between agriculture and the environment and organic farming.<br />

5. The application of New Institutional Economics (NIE) economic analyses especially on<br />

input and output markets and natural resources management.<br />

My specific research activities have been:<br />

Designing and implementation of household surveys.<br />

Data collection instrument design.<br />

Recruitment and training of field data collection research assistants.<br />

Overseeing data collection and data entry exercises.<br />

Data cleaning and quality control.<br />

Econometric and statistical data analysis using statistical software (e.g. SPSS, STATA<br />

and LIMDEP).<br />

Application of quantitative methods in agricultural policy analysis.<br />

Interpretation of results and preparation of technical reports, research & policy briefs and<br />

peer reviewed journal articles with occasional presentation of outputs in different<br />

stakeholder forums.<br />

Teaching<br />

Lecturing Farm Management & Accounts, Resource Economics, Principles of Marketing,<br />
