Thank you Indigo! Co-Ordinators – Susie Dash, Merissa Seymour, Tania Dempsey, Shannon Breen and<br />

Rebecca Lowe. Months and months of work booking rides, entertainment and displays, organising stalls, and<br />

planning the whole event. Thank you all for a wonderful day. <strong>Indooroopilly</strong> SS is a really great school!<br />

Thank you <strong>Indooroopilly</strong> SS Families – Thanks to all our supportive families and children who have done so<br />

much to make Indigo! this year a huge success!<br />

Thank you Sponsors – Audi WestBrisbane who provided $10,000 in sponsorship for Indigo! your support<br />

helps to make Indigo! the success that it is. Your attendance and display of cars on the day also adds to the<br />

atmosphere of our Fair.<br />

Doug Disher Real Estate – thank you for sponsoring our fireworks display to<br />

the value of $5,000. Everyone loves the fireworks and it is a fabulous way to<br />

end a great day. Thanks to Doug and his team for attending the Fair all day and<br />

for giving out balloons, sample bags and a raffle to support our school.<br />

Thank you to our very supportive team of politicians – Jane Prentice (Federal<br />

Member for Ryan), Scott Emerson (<strong>State</strong> Member and Transport Minister) and<br />

Julian Simmons (Brisbane City Council). These three politicians are extremely<br />

supportive of our school, attending many of our school events and supporting<br />

our school in so many different ways. Thank you!<br />

Thank you <strong>Indooroopilly</strong> Teachers, Teacher Aides, Admin Staff, Cleaners<br />

and Grounds Staff for all the work you have done to prepare the school for<br />

Indigo!, support Stall Convenors, purchase tickets, donate goods, work on stalls<br />

and help in so many different ways. You are a fantastic staff and your support<br />

and enthusiasm is most appreciated.<br />

<strong>Indooroopilly</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>School</strong> is a wonderful school and Indigo! enabled us to<br />

showcase our great school. Thank you to all involved and all who supported<br />

our Fair.<br />

Olympic Games<br />

Over the next two weeks as you enjoy the Olympic Games as they are televised from London, look out for<br />

three members of the Australian Swimming Team – Cate Campbell (Women’s 50m, 100m freestyle); Bronte<br />

Campbell (Women’s 50m freestyle); and Christian Sprenger (Men’s 100m breaststroke). These three<br />

swimmers train in our <strong>Indooroopilly</strong> SS Swimming Pool and Cate and Bronte’s proud sister Abigail is in 6A at<br />

our school. We wish Cate, Bronte and Christian all the best at the Olympic Games. Coach Simon Cusack is<br />

attending the games with these athletes and is proud to have been selected as an official Australian Swim<br />

Team Coach.<br />

<strong>School</strong> Council Nominations<br />

To facilitate renewal and succession on the <strong>School</strong> Council, a vacancy now exists for a member to represent<br />

the school's parents and our community and nominations are sought.<br />

The <strong>School</strong> Council includes representatives from the school's staff, parents and the community and provides<br />

strategic direction as well as advice with the implementation of the school's policies, priorities and budgets.<br />

It also participates in periodic audits and reviews of the school’s performance.<br />

If you would like to nominate for a position on the <strong>School</strong> Council, or would like additional information, please<br />

express your interest to the.principal@indoorooss.eq.edu.au marked “Confidential - attention <strong>School</strong> Council”<br />

by Friday, <strong>August</strong> 3rd.<br />

Free Breakfast at Tuckshop<br />

We would like you to come and see our new Tuckshop. Please join us for a free breakfast at our school<br />

Tuckshop from 7.30am on Friday 10 <strong>August</strong>. This is the changed date of our P-3 Picnic Games. After you drop<br />

the children at school, we invite you to join us in the Tuckshop for a free breakfast and a look at our<br />

wonderful new Tuckshop. All parents and carers are welcome.<br />
