Capito’s stratifi cation storages are the
core of their heating system because
they are the intelligent cut surface
between producing and using heat.
They don’t buff er just temporally and
quantitatively, they can also store the
valuable, high heated water separated
the available technologies and the cost change. This is why the Capito
stratifi cation storages are useful. They off er many possibilities for a
future adaptation and improvement of your heating system, to diff erent
energy carriers or new requests.
ca.70°
That means for you: warm
fresh water immediately for
example from the sun
The CAPITO stratifi cation
Capito’s patented stratifi cation technology is based on
three main principles:
The storage is devided in three regions: A zone of solar
heat exchanger as well as a heating zone with drinking
water pre exchanger and a zone of warm drinking water,
which are separated by a thermal isolated blank. The two
regions with diff erent size undertake diff erent tasks of
the heat storage on the one hand and the heat input and
the heat extraction on the other hand. In separating the
storage we avoid swirling and mixing to tepidly temperatures.
The water moves between the regions in riser pipes
and downpipes. Thereby we avoid needless heat loss
through the moving of the water.
The heat transport between the storage regions happens
naturally through gravitation: the warmer water ascends,
the colder water sinks.
Our functional example
When the solar energy of a solar thermal equipment is put
in the lower region (heating-up region) of the buff er storage,
the warm storage water soon ascends through the riser
pipe in the upper region of the storage. Already after just a
short solar irradiation there is enough energy available to
heat up the fresh water. Cold storage water gets through
downpipes into the heating-up region.
Three versions of the storages
By now Capito implemented the stratifi cation technology in
diff erent types of buff er storage tanks, for an optimal including
of the diff erent energy sources.
Version “S-PD” for additional alternative energies like solar
collectors and pellet stoves.
Version “S-WP-PD” for heat pumps, which should run
with the highest key performance indicator
Version “Two-Range-PD” for high temperatures like for
example solid matter boilers, district heat, etc.
How much hot water do you need?
How large is your solar collector?
Depending on the system concept heat exchangers have
diff erent tasks: energy input from separated systems (solar
collectors, heat pumps, …), energy extraction for the domestic
water production and separated heating circuit. Capito
off ers optimal possibilities of projection to planners and heating
engineers: the arrangement of the stubs and muffl es
can be chosen individually. Up to six heat exchangers can
be installed in standard, a more comprehensive type series
off ers diff erent seizes and pouring eff orts. Capito heat exchangers
can also be transposed easily later.
Profi table alternative energies
How to establish alternative energies is also a question of the
system concept. Capito off ers the up to date storing technology
to avoid unnecessary loss of energy. In so doing, solar
energy can cover up
to 60% of the annual
heat demand. The aid
of a conventional heater
is minimised.
Capito’s patented stratifi cation technology
convinces: charging and discharging procedures
take place as dynamically as the
heat demand in the heating system and the
Only when in the storage the layers with
warm water are separated carefully from
Thermal stratifi cation as scheduled
In practice:
Capito stratifi cation storages save
energy
Our test proves the energy conservation
with Capito.
We simulate the use of a solar buff er storage
tank and the input of solar energy by
a) one of Capito’s high effi cient stratifi cation
storage and
b) a conventional solar storage
Both of the buff er storage tanks start with
water temperature of 15°C in the morning at
the beginning of the solar irradiation. After
around 60 minutes irradiation we want to
fi nd out the temperature of the required hot
water.
The result:
IIn the Capito stratifi cation storage there
is hot water available, already after 60 minutes.
In the conventional solar storage the water
temperature only amounts to ca. 30°C. A
The Capito buff er storage tanks heat up fresh water in drinking
water heat exchangers – immediate before using it. Because of
their copper fi nned tubes the heat exchangers can transfer the
heat very well. Integrated in the high temperature range of the
storage they are encircled by a large storage volume and can
therefore heat up a big water
amount without diffi culty. Heat
exchangers have a volume of
max. 2,5 litres, which can be
replaced easily when extracting
the heat exchanger. Long
Due to our stratifi cation charging technology in two range
construction (high and low temperature range) warm fresh
water with a steady run-out temperature is available.
A tap water mixer is not necessary.
Avoiding bacteria slush!
The DVGW Research Centre at the Engler-Bunte-Institut
discovered that water is a grocery that addles very fast. After
at most 24 hours the quality of the water downgraded so
far that it isn’t consistent with the Drinking Water Ordinance
anymore.
§4 of the Drinking Water Ordinance from the 1st of January
2003: “Water for the human use has to be devoid of pathogen
germs, has to be utilisable and clean.“
In conventional drinking water heaters, in which no daily
and completely replacement occurs, the order is usually
ignored. Additionally there is the risk to absorb germs (like
legionella) via the respiratory organs (for example while taking
a shower), which can lead to diseases of the lung.
Optimal using and storing of heat
The Capito calorifi c value technology
Capito boiler buff er storage tanks exist from
10 up to 50 kW capacity with latest quiet
burners. Widely identical in construction
burning chambers for oil and gas make a
changeover possible at any time.
- The construction of the calorifi c value
burning chamber with Laserfi n© pipes is
approved and compact.
- The condensation of the emissions takes
place in the inside of the burning chamber,
without downstream heat exchaners.
- Optimal use of exhaust gas fl ow via swirling
technics – up tp 109% effi ciency.
- The start-stop cycles of the burners are
optimised. The advantage: Less pollutant
emission, a longer durability and reduction
of the service costs.
The stratifi cation buff er storage tank
... delivers the heat energy right away or
via the heat exchangers to the point of consumption.
A storage volume of 270 to 900
litres powers small up to large points of consumption.
Solar heat is fed in the separate
low temperature range through heat exchangers.
The storages heat up tap water,
aid the heater and include also alternative
energies optimally.
Warm fresh water
... is prepared by fl ow principle in heat exchangers
made of tinned copper pipes or
stainless steel pipes. Thereby Capito boiler
buff er storage tanks provide the hot water
exclusively in drinking water quality. It is
defi nitely harmless concerning germs (legionella),
as scientifi c studies have proven.
Boiler charging pumps do not exist, the power
consumption is low.
The compact function unit combines
production of fresh water.
