Open house, receptions, service projects, hayrides, meetings,
ring ceremonies - the list could go on about the many club
activities that brought Harding University to life. Whether itwas
getting to know new students during receptions or meeting a
friend's date at a banquet, club events were perfect opportunities
to branch out and meet other Harding students. From the
excitement of new members to the familiarity of faces on "jersey
day," social clubs helped create lasting bonds of friendship.
Although each club had its own traditions and activities,
several clubs often joined together for shaving cream fights,
devotionals at B Rock, service projects or something as simple as
eating together in the cafeteria. Social clubs created the opportunity
to become friends with people of similar personalities and
hobbies and also to form a close-knit support group.
Each club at Harding focused on the same destination: an
eternal walk with God. Although this idea was expressed and
encouraged differently within the various clubs, there was an
underlying web of unity among the clubs on campus. Clubs may
have created distinctions between students, but the ultimate
purpose of each club was the same.
