THURSDAY, MAY 10 th , 2012<br />

MINUTES<br />

1. Call to Order – Chair Rosie Figas called the meeting to order at 4 pm. Members in<br />

attendance were Hilbert Radtke and Kyle Stumbris. Also present were Village President<br />

Jeff Townsend, Village Treasurer Sara Pullen, Water/Sewer Operator Pam Heritsch, and<br />

Streets Supervisor Darryll Schmidt.<br />

2. Approval of Agenda – A request was made to move the discussions of the treatment plant<br />

well (item 5) and the Southview lift station (item 6) ahead of the discussions on the water<br />

tower inspection quotes (item 3) and the replacement of the sampler (item 4). Stumbris<br />

made a motion seconded by Radtke to approve the agenda with those changes. Motion<br />

carried.<br />

3. Discussion – Treatment plant well – The Committee had a lengthy discussion on<br />

potential options for getting electricity to the new sand point system. Townsend stated<br />

that he had no concrete figures at this time, but he would like to get a proposal together as<br />

soon as possible. He stated he will contact Dama and have them put together costs for<br />

the plumbing part of the project, and Inlet Electric will be contacted to provide quotes for<br />

running electricity out to the new sand point system. The Committee will make a<br />

recommendation to the Board after reviewing the proposals.<br />

4. Discussion – Southview lift station replacement – The Committee will recommend to the<br />

Board to replace the check valve for $2,250, and rewind the broken pump for $2,117 at<br />

the Southview lift station.<br />

5. Discussion – Review quotes for the water tower inspection – The Committee reviewed<br />

the four quotes and came up with a list of questions they would like answered,<br />

specifically from Preferred Tank & Tower who came in with the lowest bid. Heritsch<br />

was directed to ask them the following questions:<br />

If more than 1 inch of sediment needs to be removed from the tank, is<br />

there an additional charge? And if so, what is it?<br />

What is included in the visual inspection? (A detailed listing is requested)<br />

How do we dispose of the sediment? What kind of containers do we need<br />

to provide?<br />

Heritsch will make a recommendation to the Committee at the regular Board meeting on<br />

May 14 th based on her findings.


6. Discussion – Replace sampler – The Committee will recommend replacing the old<br />

sampler with a new Isco 4700 refrigerated sampler at a total cost of $4,812.42.<br />

7. Adjourn – Radtke made a motion seconded by Stumbris to adjourn at 5 pm. Motion<br />

carried.<br />
