Undergraduate Admissions Scholarships 

The Admissions Office awards general scholaraships to incoming undergraduate 

students, and various departments and colleges award scholarships to both 

incoming and continuing students. Information on scholarships available through 

each of the five colleges (Applied and Natural Sciences, Business, Education, 

Engineering and Science, and Liberal Arts) can be obtained by viewing their 

website or by contacting the individual college. The Louisiana Tech University 

Financial Aid Office does not award scholarships.

Air Force/Army ROTC Room and Board Supplement 

• Please contact Louisiana Tech Air Force ROTC or Grambling ROTC for more 

information. 

Bessie Purdy Scholarship 

• Must be an admitted freshmen with an Education (including Ag Education) or 

Human Ecology major. 

• Awards made by departments after March 1, depending on funds available. 

Application Deadline: Apply for admission by priority deadline of Jan 5. 

Bulldog Out-of-State Fee Scholarship – Incoming freshmen – Category A 

• Must be admitted. 

• 2.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale). 

• ACT 23 or SAT 1050 (CR+M) – any test date before enrollment. 

• Have no need for remedial English and Math. 

• First period of enrollment in the State of LA and at Tech is Spring 2002 or later. 

• Students are automatically considered with the application for admission. 

• Students must remain full-time and maintain a quarterly and cumulative 2.0 GPA.

Bulldog Out-of-State Fee Scholarship – Transfer/Enrolled – Category C 

• Must be admitted with completed transcript(s) on file. 

• 12 semester hours of college credit. 

• Cumulative 2.75 GPA. 

• Have no need for remedial English and Math. 

• First period of enrollment in the State of LA and at Tech is Spring 2002 or later. 

• Students must complete the application at least two weeks prior to the quarter. 

• Students must remain full-time and maintain a quarterly and cumulative 2.0 GPA.

CenturyTel Scholarship 

• Must be an admitted freshman with an Accounting or Engineering major. 

• Requires: GPA: 3.0 

• Must live in Lincoln, Ouachita, Morehouse, Richland, or Union parishes and 

interview with a committee at Century Telephone. 

• Approximately 1 award for $1,500 per year for four academic years is available. 

• Student must remain full-time Accounting or Engineering majors and maintain a 

cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a quarterly basis. 

Application Deadline: Applications mailed to high school counselors Feb 1, and 

are due by April 1. 

Colvin Memorial Scholarship 

• Must be an admitted incoming freshman (all majors). 

• Requires: GPA: 3.2 ACT: 24 SAT: 1090 (CR+M) 

• Must be a graduate of Dubach High School. 

• One award for the Fall quarter is available. 


High School Rally Scholarship 

• Must be an admitted incoming freshman (all majors). 

• Additional Requirements taken into Consideration: 

- Overall winner in each literary event at the District Rally held at Louisiana Tech. 

- Must attend Louisiana Tech in the fall quarter following high school graduation. 

• Awards for $300 for the fall quarter only are available.

Louisiana Systems Board of Supervisors Scholarship 

• Must be an admitted incoming freshmen (all majors) from Louisiana. 


• Approximately 20 awards for $2,500 - $4,100 per year for four academic year are 

available. 

• Student must remain full-time and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (one quarter 

probationary period). 

Application Deadline: Apply for admission by priority deadline of Jan 5. Updated 

ACT/SAT accepted through December test date. 

Marbury Alumni Scholarship 

• Must be an admitted incoming freshmen (all majors). 


• Additional Requirements taken into Consideration: At least one parent is a Tech 

Graduate. 

• Approximately 15 awards for $1,000 for one academic year are available. 


McGee Scholarship-Bienville 


• Selections made by a board of principals and faculty members from the parish 

schools. 

• Must be a graduate of a Bienville Parish high school and remain in good standing 

at the University. 

• Awards made depending on funds available. 




McGee Scholarship-Red River 


• Selections made by a board of principals and faculty members from the parish 

schools. 

• Must be a graduate of a Red River Parish high school and remain in good standing. 

• Awards made depending on funds available. 



Application Deadline: Apply for admission by priority deadline of Jan 5.

National Merit Scholarship 



• Must be a National Merit Finalist and list Louisiana Tech as first choice with 

the National Merit Corporation. 

• Unlimited awards which pay tuition, fees, cost of regular dorm and meals for four 

years. 

• Choice of a bonus award (up to $5,000): laptop computer, summer study abroad, 

or fifth year of undergraduate or graduate study.

Outstanding Student Scholarship-In-State 

• Must be an admitted incoming freshmen (all majors) from Louisiana. 

• Requires: GPA: 3.0 ACT: 23-30 SAT: 1050-1350 (CR+M) 

• Awards for $1,200-$3,700 per year for four academic years are available. 

• Student must remain full-time and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 by the end 

of the academic year. 



Outstanding Student Scholarship-Out-State 

• Must be an admitted incoming freshmen (all majors) from out-of-state. 

• Requires: GPA: 3.0 ACT: 23-31 SAT: 1050-1390 (CR+M) 

• Awards for $1,200-$4,100 per year for four academic years are available. 

• Student must remain full-time and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 by the end 

of the academic year. 



Presidential Scholarship 



• Unlimited awards which pay tuition, fee, and cost of regular dorm and meals for 

four years.

Summer Enrichment 

• Must be a high school student who has completed their junior year. 


• Must have summer program eligibility and live on-campus. 

• Awards for tuition for the summer only are available. 

• Students can be full-time or part-time. 

• Must meet Summer Scholarship/Enrichment Program deadlines and requirements.
