Club Enclosure
Key points: • Free racecard on arrival, access to all public areas
including parade ring, covered seating and grandstand viewing
and track side viewing adjacent to finishing posts • A dress
code applies to this area.

Paddock Enclosure
Key points: • Access to parade ring, some covered viewing

Raceday Hospitality
As its name “Garden Racecourse” suggests it is probably the most
attractive and intimate course in the country. During race days the
atmosphere is truly unique – your guests or clients will be able to
witness the top jockeys in action amid sumptuous surroundings
with gourmet food and drink.
Box Hire
Rowels Boxes A range of private lunch rooms with viewing
balconies are available to suit the size of any party from 25-100
guests. This self-contained and highly private area in the main
grandstand is accessible by lift and includes a Tote betting point.
Hornblower Room An intimate and private building devoted
solely to your party of up to 40 guests.

Club Dining Room
Small groups can be accommodated in the Club Dining Room.
Subject to availability parties of up to 10 guests can reserve a
table for a race meeting. A selection of tables are allocated on
a first come first serve basis on every raceday.
An “A La Carte” menu is served in the Club Dining Room with a
choice of three or four courses. The menu changes between race
meetings - please speak to the caterers if you require a menu
sending prior to your visit. The approximate cost for a meal is
between £20 - £30 per person.
All table reservations should be made directly with the caterers
(please note a reservation fee of £5 per person is charged).

Dine & View
As the name suggests you are able to dine whilst viewing a day’s
racing; with a private balcony offering panoramic views across the
racecourse. This Dine and View restaurant is a shared facility
located in the main grandstand. Private tables to accommodate
any number (subject to availability).
Dine and View Package includes:
• Badge wallet for each guest containing the day's itinerary
and general information
• Admission badge - allowing entry into the Club Enclosure
and hospitality facilities

Ladies’ Day
Always a stylish and colourful occasion, Ladies’ Day features a
glorious afternoon of racing together with Fashion Marquee &
Shows.
This day seems to be getting bigger and better every year, so
don’t miss out, see what all the fuss is about and come join us on
Thursday 21st June.

which will be announced closer to the time, it’s a great opportunity

Family Fun Day and Children’s Day are two of our most
popular meetings. This year being held on:

FAQ’s / New Racegoers
What time do gates open?
When should I get to the Racecourse?
Gates open two hours before the first race or on a Saturday from 12 midday.
Traffic can build up on a raceday especially on weekend fixtures so it is
always advisable to arrive in plenty of time. There is plenty to do and see at
the racecourse before the racing starts- enjoy some food and drink or
familiarise yourself with the racecourse layout.
What’s the difference between a Standard and Feature day?
The main difference is the crowd size; Saturdays (a Feature Day) tend to be
the busiest days so please bear this in mind when booking your trip .
Parking
Parking is completely FREE. The car park can get busy so ensure you arrive
early to get close to the entrance.
Dress Code
Club Enclosure – we ask that customers dress respectably – The Ripon
Racecourse view on smart casual is no blue denim, sportswear, trainers,
t-shirts or shorts.
Paddock / Course Enclosure – There is no formal dress code for these
areas but we do ask that people still dress in a manner of taste and
decency. Bare chests are not acceptable.
Are there disabled facilities?
We have limited disabled parking outside the Racecourse entrance;
these are on a first come basis and cannot be reserved. The remainder of
the car parking is on flat ground but mainly grassed. Inside the racecourse
it is fairly easy to get about with plenty of flat tarmac walkways. There are
disabled toilets and most of the bars and restaurants are accessible for
wheelchair users. Many disabled visitors have commented that the ability
to bring a car onto the Course Enclosure and park directly adjacent to the
track is a great advantage. There are also raised viewing points in the Club
and Paddock areas.

Train - The nearest stations are Harrogate (11 miles), Thirsk (11
miles) and York (27 miles).
Buses -

142, 143 – York – Boroughbridge – Ripon
Road - FREE PARKING AT THE RACECOURSE
Ripon is most easily accessed by the A1(M).
Approaching from the South, leave the A1 at the turning to Ripon
(junction 48), which is just after the Harrogate exit, and follow the brown
signs for Ripon Cathedral and you’ll soon pick up racecourse signs.
Once over a fairly narrow bridge (after the Blackamoor pub) you will be
approaching the Racecourse on your left, the first entrance is the Cars
on Course and the second entrance is the main free car park with access
to the Club or Paddock Enclosure and also the Course if you are
planning on walking into the centre at a price per person.
Approaching from the North, leave the A1 where it is joined by
the A61 which becomes the Ripon bypass. Turn left at the third
roundabout and the racecourse is just a few hundred yards on the right.
The first entrance on your right will be the main free car park with
access to the Club or Paddock Enclosure and also the Course if you are
planning on walking into the centre at a price per person, if you are
wanting the Car on Course Enclosure this is the second entrance on the
right which allows you to drive into the centre of the racecourse.
Approaching either from the East or the West, take the A61 to
the Ripon bypass and follow the brown signs to the racecourse.
