Fish Camp<br />

Kids you don’t want to miss<br />

Fish Camp 2011. Our theme this<br />

year will be “Cross Training for the<br />

Christian Life”, with a focus on<br />

the book of Daniel; his struggles,<br />

victories <strong>and</strong> triumph in God’s<br />

service. We will have Bible study,<br />

worship, recreation, swimming <strong>and</strong> loads of fun! Sabine Creek<br />

Ranch offers “The Blob”, archery, swimming, air-conditioned<br />

cabins, <strong>and</strong> plenty of outdoor space to explore. Camp offers you<br />

the opportunity to meet new friends, learn independence,<br />

spend time alone with God, <strong>and</strong> to study the Bible, Worship,<br />

<strong>and</strong> have loads of fun!<br />

Camp Dayspring<br />

Are you ready to get out of town <strong>and</strong> have a week to remember at<br />

Camp Dayspring? Activities Include: archery, swimming, B-B’s,<br />

Bible study, singing, crafts, sno-cones, Yo-Yo Man, sports, team games,<br />

inflatables <strong>and</strong> more. Children will be placed in groups based on their<br />

grade — you will be notified of your child’s group prior to camp.<br />

A certified lifeguard will be on site each day. Lunch <strong>and</strong> drink will<br />

Arlington Stadium — Home of the Texas Rangers. There will also be a<br />

variety of other fun stuff each day including instruction from “Yo-Yo<br />

Volleyball Camp<br />

Whether you are new to the sport or are getting ready to try out for<br />

the school team, there is a spot for you at volleyball camp. Campers<br />

will learn skills <strong>and</strong> fundamentals including: serving, passing, setting<br />

<strong>and</strong> hitting through instruction, drills <strong>and</strong> games. T-shirt included.<br />

Larry Barbour<br />

Larry Barbour is the physical education teacher at<br />

Carlisle Elementary in the Plano ISD, where he was<br />

selected teacher of year in 1999. Coach Barbour has<br />

16 years of middle school <strong>and</strong> high school coaching<br />

experience most recently at Plano West Senior<br />

High School from 1999 – 2006. Larry holds B.S. <strong>and</strong> M.S. degrees in<br />

health <strong>and</strong> physical education from Baylor University. He is a member<br />

<strong>and</strong> deacon at Prestonwood <strong>Baptist</strong> <strong>Church</strong> <strong>and</strong> has been involved in<br />

leading basketball camps <strong>and</strong> leagues at PCBC for the past 14 years.<br />

Damon Berry<br />

Damon Berry is on staff at <strong>Park</strong> <strong>Cities</strong> <strong>Baptist</strong> as Minister<br />

of Sports Outreach. He has over 10 years of experience<br />

working with children <strong>and</strong> youth both as a coach,<br />

camp director <strong>and</strong> teacher. Damon is a graduate of<br />

Hardin-Simmons University where he was a member<br />

of the tennis team. Damon is married <strong>and</strong> has one daughter.<br />

Cole Johnson<br />

Cole Johnson is the assistant basketball coach at<br />

Naaman Forest High School in Garl<strong>and</strong>. Coach Johnson is<br />

a graduate of Greenville College in Illinois where he earned<br />

a B.S. in education <strong>and</strong> was a member of the basketball<br />

team. Cole has been coaching PCBC Basketball Camps for<br />

the past 11 years. Cole is married <strong>and</strong> has 3 sons.<br />

Roddy Willis<br />

Rev. Roderick Willis graduated from Cedarville University<br />

with a BA in Biblical Studies. He earned a ThM from Dallas<br />

Theological Seminary. He is completing a PhD in Higher<br />

Education at University of North Texas <strong>and</strong> Dallas Theological<br />

Seminary. He has +10 years of ministry experience <strong>and</strong> loves<br />

to see kids <strong>and</strong> families grow closer to Jesus. Roddy is the Dodgeball<br />

Camp #2 Director along with serving as Sports Outreach Intern in<br />

Basketball, Soccer, 4 Daze of Craze, Wacky Games <strong>and</strong> Dayspring Camps.<br />

Marilyn <strong>and</strong> Allie Mootz<br />

Marilyn <strong>and</strong> Allie Mootz are college aged sisters <strong>and</strong><br />

PCBC members who enjoy spending time in the kitchen,<br />

both baking <strong>and</strong> cooking. They are exited about meeting<br />

new faces, preparing dishes <strong>and</strong> sharing their love<br />

of cooking with others.<br />

Renee Morales<br />

Renee Morales is a graduate of Baylor University. She has<br />

taught Pre-K Sunday School <strong>and</strong> VBS at PCBC for several<br />

years. Renee also spent many years as a camp counselor<br />

at Camp Dayspring <strong>and</strong> as Camp Director of Kids Kamp.<br />

Currently, Renee keeps busy raising her two daughters <strong>and</strong> baking <strong>and</strong><br />

decorating cakes.<br />

Tom O’Brien<br />

Tom O’Brien, PCBC member for the last 19 years, helped<br />

launch the Upward Basketball program at PCBC <strong>and</strong> has<br />

also served as a coach, commissioner <strong>and</strong> referee. Tom<br />

has been a counselor at Fish Camp, Camp Dayspring <strong>and</strong><br />

volunteered with Royal Ambassadors <strong>and</strong> currently serves as an 8th<br />

grade Sunday School Teacher at PCBC where his wife <strong>and</strong> two children<br />

are also actively involved.<br />

Tammy Owens<br />

For the past 12 years Tammy Owens, founder <strong>and</strong> director<br />

of Dancing Angels Ministry, began with a mission to<br />

teach children how to honor <strong>and</strong> worship God through<br />

the gift of dance. As a dance educator, Miss Tammy<br />

has developed a unique program that reaches the hearts<br />

<strong>and</strong> spirits of young girls while introducing them to the techniques of<br />

ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, drill team <strong>and</strong> more. With a kind <strong>and</strong> nurturing<br />

teaching style, the Dancing Angels staff weaves the love of Christ<br />

into every aspect of class, inspiring their students to dance for the<br />

glory of God. Tammy has held Dancing Angels camps <strong>and</strong> classes<br />

Brian Simpson<br />

Brian Simpson, director of Triumph Sports is a<br />

coach/teacher in the Northwest ISD at Byron Nelson<br />

High School in Trophy Club. He holds two degrees in<br />

marketing <strong>and</strong> speech from Point Loma Nazarene<br />

University in California. While in college he participated<br />

in soccer, baseball <strong>and</strong> the speech/debate teams. Brian has worked<br />

in sports marketing for the San Diego Padres <strong>and</strong> the San Diego<br />

Chargers. Coach Simpson has over 16 years experience in sports camp<br />

administration <strong>and</strong> has worked with PCBC camps for the past 6 years.<br />

Jennifer Swayze Riordan<br />

Jennifer Swayze Riordan received a B.F.A. in Studio Art<br />

with All-Level Teaching Certification from Baylor<br />

University <strong>and</strong> a Masters degree in Art Education from<br />

Texas Women’s University. Jennifer is an Art Specialist<br />

with the University <strong>Park</strong> Elementary Highl<strong>and</strong> <strong>Park</strong> ISD<br />

<strong>and</strong> has taught after school Art Classes <strong>and</strong> summer Art Camps at <strong>Park</strong><br />

<strong>Cities</strong> <strong>Baptist</strong> <strong>Church</strong> for the past seven years. To contact or view more<br />

Christie Warden<br />

Christie Warden has coached volleyball teams in Excel<br />

Volleyball Club, Texas Assault Volleyball Club, Allen Sports<br />

Association, Plano Sports Authority, <strong>and</strong> the Home School<br />

Athletic Association (HSAA). Christie also has many<br />

years of experience coaching Upward cheerleading <strong>and</strong><br />

directing cheer camps. Coach Warden is currently the head coach of<br />

Excel’s 16s Red National volleyball team. Christie is IMPACT certified.<br />

She is married <strong>and</strong> has four wonderful children. She <strong>and</strong> her family are<br />

members of Cottonwood Creek <strong>Baptist</strong> <strong>Church</strong> in Allen, TX.<br />

Betty Sue Welch<br />

Betty Sue Welch has taught <strong>and</strong> coached tennis for<br />

over 36 years at the local, state, collegiate, national <strong>and</strong><br />

international levels. In 1999 she was inducted into the<br />

Texas Tennis Hall of Fame <strong>and</strong> in 2009 she was inducted<br />

to the Texas Tennis Coaches Hall of Fame. Coach Welch<br />

has a B.A. from SMU in PE <strong>and</strong> speech, <strong>and</strong> a M.Ed. From UT Austin in PE<br />

<strong>and</strong> Special Ed. She is an USPTA tennis professional, a USTA umpire <strong>and</strong><br />

referee, <strong>and</strong> the State Sport Director for tennis for Special Olympics<br />

Texas. Currently, she teaches at UP Middle School.
