Park Cities Baptist strives to provide opportunities for growth in Christ
through various ministries. From the preschooler learning about how to
share God’s love to a senior adult serving Christ, you will grown when
you are rooted in the study of God’s word.

moment to peruse the articles and then pray about areas in your own life

This group offers hope and help for anyone who is experiencing
the pain and sorrow of losing a loved one. “Living with Loss”
explores the stories, emotions, questions, fears, and steps of
faith that accompany the journey, believing that God is more
than a God of surviving; He is a God of healing. Contact the

Women’s Evening Bible Study—Believing God by Beth Moore
Based on Isaiah 43:10 we will explore what it means to not only
believe in God, but to believe Him. Text: Believing God member

Digging Deeper. . . Spiritual Growth in a Busy World
We all have good intentions to do the things we know we should
to grow in the Lord, but hectic schedules and the busyness of life
often get in the way; leaving us feeling inadequate and frustrated
as Christians. This course will help provide helpful ways to grow
spiritually in the midst of “doing life.” During these four weeks,
we will explore four ways to deepen our spiritual life—week one
will be Deeper Faith, week two Deeper Prayer, week three Deeper
Bible study and week four Deeper Scripture application. You will
come away with practical ways to help you have a more vibrant

Crown Ministries—Managing Money God’s Way
Crown Financials’ Managing Money God’s Way—end the last
part of 2008 the right way! On September 10, 2008 at 6:30 p.m.
in Room 204 West we will be having an informational kick-off
meeting for our fall semester of classes on Managing Money
God’s Way. These classes, which start the following week, are
designed to teach Christians biblical principles when it comes
to managing finances. The kick-off meeting is information only.

Is the Church Dead?
Church growth has long been declining at an alarming rate. At the
same time, the public faces of Christianity in recent years have shifted
dramatically. It begs the question is the Church dead? In this three-week
course, we’ll discuss this question and others such as “Are Christians

A Hunger for the Holy
Through a study of the book A Hunger for the Holy by Calvin Miller,
we will explore our hunger for intimacy with God. Group members

Global warming, the environment and conservation are on

Cooking Up Great Relationships: A Relationship-building
Cooking Class—Grilling Edition
What do grilling foods and relationships have in common? They
both involve preparation, patience, attention to detail, and
enjoyment. Learn to prepare a menu with fresh, savory flavors
and get tips for strengthening your relationships at the same
time. Also learn techniques for tasty grilling, parenting tips for
effective discipline and marriage and relationship tips for effective

What are the top five things that parents should never say to their
kids? Dr. Brad Schwall will share the top five parenting clichés
to avoid, why you should avoid them, and what to say instead.

said and learn effective, efficient communication strategies for

Why Can’t I Understand Him/Her—Embracing
God’s Gender Design
God created gender differences as two parts of a whole. From the
beginning damaged gender differences have stirred up distance
and misunderstanding. God created gender differences to make
a better world (Genesis 2:18 “It is not good that man should be
alone.”) God’s guidance is essential in understanding our gender
differences. Learn how embracing God’s design in making male
and female can create unity in relationships with others. This

A Woman’s Touch Dinner: “Bee All That You Can Bee”
Tuesday, October 7, 2008. Featuring Dr. Mamie McCullough, motivational
speaker and author. Table viewing at 5:30 p.m. Dinner at 7:00 p.m. Location:
Great Hall. Cost: $22 per ticket.
One of the highlights of the year for the Women’s Ministry, A Woman’s Touch
Dinner provides a time for ladies to gather for inspiration and motivation from
a speaker, enjoy a fabulous meal and view beautiful “tablescapes” created
by our own ladies. Our creative Table Hostesses spend lots of time planning
and decorating a table for the evening. If you would like to decorate a table

This year’s dinner will feature Dr. Mamie McCullough, “The I Can Lady.” Dr. McCullough is the author
of several popular books, including I Can; You Can, Too!, Get it Together…And Remember Where You
Put It, and I’m Not Waving, I’m Drowning. She is living proof that
“it’s not what happens to you, but what you make out of what
happens that counts!” She has overcome poverty and many other
adversities, including cancer to become one of the country’s most
popular motivational speakers.

In Mission Friends, preschoolers develop missions attitudes and concepts, become aware of God’s love for all people, realize that others
need to hear about Jesus, learn of missions work and missionaries in North America and around the world and learn the joy of praying

Royal Ambassadors (RA’s) boys in grades 1–6
The primary focus of the Royal Ambassador program (RAs) at PCBC is to help boys know about the missions work of Southern Baptists
around the world, and how each boy may have a personal role in missions throughout his life in his “own backyard” and beyond—to

KIDS HOPE Mentoring
Build a caring relationship with one child helping with school work and having fun. Kids Hope USA is a national
program brought to PCBC in partnership with Buckner.
Time Commitment: One hour a week during the school day on the same day each week throughout the school year, September–May.

Park Cities Baptist’s After School Enrichment Program at Jack Lowe Elementary
Park Cities Baptist’s After School Enrichment Program began in January, 2007 at Jack Lowe Elementary School in the
Vickery neighborhood. PCBC provides tutoring and enriching activities for students in the third through fifth grades from
3 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays during the school year. Volunteers are needed to help with homework
and help children with enriching activities, such as sports and games, arts and crafts, computer work, and music.
Time Commitment: Volunteers commit to the amount of time reasonable for them between 3–6
p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays during the school year. The greatest need is during
homework time, 3–4:15 p.m. Location: Jack Lowe, Sr. Elementary, near Park Lane and Greenville

Cool Kids Live! Family Workshops
Help host Cool Kids Live! Family Workshops that include a dinner for families, a parenting workshop, a children’s
workshop, and a family activity.
