35. The Democratic People’s Republic of <strong>Korea</strong> is also upgrading its east coast<br />
facility (see figure VII). It is now apparent that c<strong>on</strong>structi<strong>on</strong>, under way since the<br />
summer of 2011, is for a new launch pad and other related facilities (e.g. assembly and<br />
launch c<strong>on</strong>trol buildings). These seem larger than the <strong>on</strong>es of the west coast facility,<br />
which were completed less than two years ago and may already accommodate muchlarger<br />
rockets than the <strong>on</strong>es launched in April and December 2012 (see para. 36 of<br />
S/2012/422).<br />
