The Pharmaceutical Sciences Graduate Program at the University of Kentucky College of
Pharmacy offers exciting opportunities for students seeking training in the areas of Drug
Discovery and Development, Clinical and Experimental Therapeutics and Pharmaceutical
Outcomes and Policy. Students that obtain Ph.D. training in our program are highly valued by
the pharmaceutical industry, government agencies and academia. The Drug Discovery
Division encompasses the fields of medicinal chemistry, drug design, cell signaling, clinical
pharmacology and experimental therapeutics. The Drug Development Division explores the
areas of pharmaceutics, novel drug delivery systems and
pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics. The Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy track
focuses on the relationship between pharmacotherapy and health outcomes,
pharmacoeconomics, pharmacoepidemiology, informatics and pharmaceutical policy. Many of
the researchers in our College play integral roles in the economic development of Kentucky
