The USM Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in
2009, is an ACS-accredited department granting B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. In the latest
numbers (Chemical & Engineering News, Oct 4, 2010) for most federal support for chemical
R&D, Southern Miss stands at #31 among US universities. The department invites
applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning August 2011.
Outstanding candidates in any research area of chemistry will be considered, but the teaching
