It has been suggested that our plaudits [for the Gordon Highl<strong>and</strong>ers]<br />

have been a little overstrained, but we need not be afraid of that. Nothing<br />

heartens a <strong>soldier</strong> better than deserved praise <strong>and</strong> the knowledge that<br />
