dur<strong>in</strong>g those troubled times, Andrew's commentary <strong>of</strong>fered a traditional, spiritual, wellthought,<br />

<strong>and</strong> ra<strong>the</strong>r reassur<strong>in</strong>g analysis <strong>of</strong> Révélation. The effectiveness <strong>of</strong> Andrew's<br />

commentary <strong>in</strong> shap<strong>in</strong>g Eastern Christian eschatological attitudes is confirmed by <strong>the</strong><br />

numerous manuscripts which preserved <strong>the</strong> commentary, <strong>the</strong> fact that his commentary has<br />

never been superseded by any o<strong>the</strong>r <strong>ancient</strong> <strong>in</strong>terprétation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Book <strong>of</strong> Révélation, <strong>and</strong> by<br />
