Have you ever wondered how
InfraTrain makes sure that all
qualifications are assessed to the
same standards across the
country? Well, that’s where our
Regional Moderators come in.
Regional Moderators perform a quality
assurance role, making sure that
assessment decisions are consistent
across the board. When looking at
assessments they are asking the question
‘Based on the same evidence, would
another assessor make the same decision
as this one?’
Moderation Officer Bruce McCall
explains, “The moderation process is
essential to maintaining the credibility
of InfraTrain qualifications. It enables
industry to feel confident in our
assessment decisions – for example, that
an assessor in Whangarei would make
the same decision as one in Invercargill.
The moderation process ultimately means
that InfraTrain is offering a quality
product to the industry.”
InfraTrain currently has 10 Regional
Moderators who are based around
the country and who have extensive
