ON-OFF
One luminaire, lots of lighting ideas
Maximum freedom of interpretation articulates on a simple
construction concept: this is ON-OFF’s strength of innovation.
Basically, it consists of a recessed rail structure that is
integrated into solid false ceilings to the point that it remains
fully concealed to the sight, leaving all the space to light. This
seems to really come out of the ceilings and walls as if
originating from them.
It is light that defines architecture in a sober and refined
manner, camouflaging itself in the environment while creating
unique settings.
Based on a modern and appreciated light concept, ON-OFF is an
extremely versatile product that also accepts maximum
customisation.
Immaterial light cuts, long light rows, alternating types of light
installed at different levels or in a single solution. Never before
project planners have enjoyed so many opportunities to define
the environment with their own ideas of light.

Single module configurations
ON-OFF 57 and ON-OFF 97: multilevel single lighting systems. The screening devices can be positioned at different levels, thereby creating different lighting effects.
All versions presently available are illustrated on the next pages.

Line of light configurations
ON-OFF 57 CONTINUO and ON-OFF 97 CONTINUO: lighting systems designed to form dynamic lines of light. Modules are factory-fitted to be installed adjacent with
one another into continuous rows of the desired length. This further increases the already numerous design options that can be implemented using ON-OFF single
modules. The line of light can be composed of:
- lighting modules having screening devices of the same type fitted at the same level; this gives an even light effect, or
- lighting modules with screening devices or light sources of different types fitted at different levels; this gives dynamic light effects.
Do not hesitate to contact our Technical/Sales Staff or our Partners for project work using ON-OFF CONTINUO.
ON-OFF

ON-OFF
Concealed recessed system
Recessed architectural system. The luminaire
has no visible external bezel or borders
since it perfectly integrates into the plasterboard.
Suitable for walls or false ceilings made of
12.5 mm thick solid plasterboard.
A minimum gap from the wall or ceiling to
the plasterboard is required for installation.
The availability of two ON-OFF versions:
A) for minimum gap of 87 mm, and
B) for minimum gap of 130 mm
guarantees a wide choice of light effects,
light screening types and positioning levels.
Concept simplicity: structural modules + lighting modules
ON-OFF is composed of extruded aluminium carrying structure and lighting modules that are easily assembled to the structure.
It comes in two models identified by means of the width of the visible part:
- ON-OFF 57, corresponding to a visible span of 57 mm,
- ON-OFF 97, corresponding to a visible span of 97 mm, and then there is
- ON-OFF 167 that can be installed with spotlights and multiple different light sources. Contact our Technical/Sales Staff for more information.
Each of these versions is manufactured in 2 heights to enable assembly into gaps measuring 87 mm or 130 mm. This dimension includes
plasterboard thickness.
The length of the lighting modules varies according to the power of the light source selected. Dimensions of the visible portions are as follows:
580 mm (14/24W), 880 mm (21/39W), 1180 mm (28/54W), and 1480 mm (35/49/80W).
Choosing guide
The choice of the lighting solution to be adopted should be based on:
- technical criteria (available gap between the false ceiling and the palsterboard
ceiling or wall; positioning of the screening system);
- light engineering criteria (light amount and position);
- aesthetic criteria (type of light effect desired and overall impact of the light
relative to the environment).
ON-OFF is an extremely versatile product that offers various lighting solutions,
not all of which, however, are applicable to all situations.
See tables on page 37 for possible choices.
IMPORTANT:
** Minimum gap size including plasterboard thickness. Free space is 74.5 mm and 117.5 mm, respectively.
** Minimum space that should be free from reinforcing structures and ducts and/or raceways to allow assembly of ON-OFF.
Some ON-OFF versions come with RGB technology to recreate the emotional
effects evoked by light changing colour.

To make ON-OFF selection, project work and assembly easier, we advise taking
the following simple steps:
1) Make sure that the false ceiling or wall is made of solid plasterboard in
thickness 12.5 mm.
2) Carefully measure gap size and check availability of minimum height and
width necessary to accommodate ON-OFF.
3) Using the drawings on page 37, select the model and version that are suitable
to the structural characteristics of the environment and that best meet
the preliminary aesthetic and light engineering evaluations. Each version is
marked with a TABLE number that makes reference to the single product
pages.
4) Check the following with the person responsible for the plasterboard:
- opportune plasterboard structuration;
- structure to plasterboard retention system;
- finishing of the visible perimeter.
5) Keep into account that the structure and the lighting modules are generally
installed at different moments and by different professionals. It is opportune
to agree the delivery terms and schedule for the various components
with both these professionals and our company.
ORDERING GUIDE: each product consists of two parts, namely the structural module and the lighting module. These two parts are identified
by different codes to be delivered at different times, if required. This allows the person responsible for the plasterboard to have the rail
structure available and set it in during plasterboard construction, or at a early phase in any case. The lighting module is usually assembled
by the electrician after finishing, skimming and painting of the plasterboard.
Both codes should be detailed upon ordering (ex 1900040AE and T19LD010AE) together with the respective delivery dates.

Applications
False ceilings/recessed luminaires
compatibility
Suitable for opportunely structured solid plasterboard false ceilings
in thickness 12.5 mm. The luminaire does not require installation
brackets and is directly secured to plasterboard slab.
This requires joint project work of the false ceiling and lighting
system.
Border strips
Luminaires with screen or plate
are supplied complete with finishing
border strips that allow
perfect tightness at the ends
and prevents light leaks.
Colour and dynamic light
ON-OFF in the version with RGB technology and three coloured lamps
(red, green, and blue) creates suggestive dynamic light effects. An
external control unit (not included in the supply) programmes colour
sequence, luminosity, intensity, and changing speed. Contact our
