What started out as small group of people getting together to discuss Coast Guard training and performance issues has grown into a premier regional event of 400 people to examine, debate, and explore “workforce performance.” This annual event is attended by the Coast Guard, Department of Defense, Homeland Security, numerous federal agencies, private industry, academia, and international partners. The purpose of the workshop is to provide the Coast Guard and HPT professionals a forum to share, learn, and grow their ability to impact individual and organizational performance. As a result of the popularity and value of this event, programs within the Coast Guard have coordinated business meetings to coincide with the workshop. This has enabled HPT ideas and principles to influence the language and context of these meetings and further support the implementation of HPT within the Coast Guard.
