Have you ever been guilty of looking
at others your own age and thinking:
“Surely, I can’t look that old?”
I was sitting in the Waiting Room for my first appointment
with a new dentist. Noticing his diploma, I remembered a
handsome, dark-haired boy with the same name that I’d had a
crush on some 40 years back. I quickly discarded any such
thought upon walking into his office.
This balding man with a deeply lined face was way too old to
have been my classmate … or, could he? So I asked if he had
attended Forest High.
“Yes, yes” he gleamed with pride. “Why do you ask?”
“You were in my class!” I exclaimed.
He looked at me closely, then – that ugly, old, wrinkled sonof-a-bitch
asked:
“What did you teach?”
