8. Disconnect the transmission ground cable from the<br />

transmission.<br />

15. Disconnect the vehicle speed sensor connector.<br />

9. Disconnect the lock-up control solenoid and the<br />

shift control solenoid connectors.<br />

10. Disconnect the throttle control cable from the throttle<br />

control lever.<br />

11. Disconnect the mainshaft speed sensor connector.<br />

12. Remove the ATF cooler hoses at the ATF cooler<br />

lines. Turn the ends of the ATF cooler hoses up to<br />

prevent ATF from flowing out, then plug the hoses<br />

and lines.<br />

16. Remove the transmission housing mounting bolts.<br />

NOTE: Check for any signs of leakage at the hoses<br />

joints.<br />

13. Remove the starter motor cables.<br />

14. Disconnect the countershaft speed sensor and the<br />

A/T gear position switch connector.
