Season Preview
The Lady Cavaliers return to the hardwood intent on making another strong appearance at the Region IV Tournament.
The team which finished with a 31-3 record in 2011 and an appearance in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament
has five new players. Success will depend on growth, leadership, and toughness.
Coach Donnie Denson will ask the new freshmen to step up and make their presence felt on the offensive and
defensive ends. The four sophomores will be expected to lead by example and continue the hardnosed style of play
that earned a final record of 31-3 last season.
The 2011-12 schedule has the Cavs facing off against McHenry County College, South Suburban College and Moraine
Valley in Region IV Division II. Outside of Region IV, the Cavaliers will play Kalamazoo Valley, Illinois Central College,
Parkland College, and Kirkwood, Iowa.
The Lady Cavaliers expect to face several nationally ranked teams. A good recruiting year for other teams also may
produce challenges for the squad.
The 2011-12 schedule includes five contests against Division I opponents and 25 with Division II teams. It should
give the Lady Cavaliers the preparation necessary to complete for the regional championship crown.
