Private G/18531 Herbert William WENBOURNE. 11 th Battalion, Queen’s Own (Royal West<br />

<strong>Kent</strong> Regiment). Formerly (2473) Royal East <strong>Kent</strong> Mounted Rifles (Yeomanry). Died 31 st July<br />

1917 aged 21 years. Enlisted Ashford. Resided Frittenden. Son of William and Harriet<br />

Wenbourne of Park Cottage, Frittenden, <strong>Kent</strong>. Herbert has no known grave. His name appears<br />

on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Leper, Belgium. Panel reference 45 and 47.<br />

Corporal 4049 Frederick Charles Bertie WILLIAMS MM. 10 th Battalion, Rifle Brigade. Died<br />

24 th September 1917. Born Tenterden. Enlisted Canterbury. Resided East Malling, <strong>Kent</strong>. Buried<br />

in the Bard Cottage Cemetery. Grave reference III.H.18.<br />

Frederick was awarded the Military Medal for bravery in the field.<br />

Koln, Germany. Grave reference II.D.15.<br />
