Departmental Scholarships<br />

Several departments at Thomas More offer<br />

scholarships to qualified students pursuing<br />

a particular field of study. Students should<br />

contact the respective departments to learn<br />

more about the scope of the scholarships<br />

available <strong>and</strong> for scholarship application<br />

deadlines. All departmental scholarship<br />

recipients must first be accepted for admission<br />

Memorial Art Scholarship<br />

Eligibility: Must plant to major in art; maintain<br />

satisfactory progress; submit a letter of<br />

recommendation from an art educator <strong>and</strong> a<br />

written letter by the applicant stating goals<br />

<strong>and</strong> aspirations as a student in the art department;<br />

<strong>and</strong> submit a portfolio of no less than<br />

10 items of own artwork. Works submitted<br />

need not be matted but should be presented<br />

in a study portfolio. Sketchbooks may be<br />

included. Slides <strong>and</strong> color photographs may<br />

be submitted for 3-dimensional works.<br />

submit a letter of recommendation from a<br />

current biology teacher <strong>and</strong> a 1-page letter in<br />

which the student describes his/her interest in<br />

medical laboratory science or biology, related<br />

extracurricular activities <strong>and</strong> how majoring<br />

in medical laboratory science is related to<br />

the student’s long-term goals.<br />
