Allergies and medications
Parents are required to inform us of any allergies
or medications their child has when enrolling and
registering at the centre. Parents are requested to
explain known triggers and symptoms to help us
recognise and treat allergies or conditions. Efforts will
be made to avoid exposure to the known cause.
Anaphylaxsis: If any child is known to have a nut
or anaphylactic reaction or episode to any allergy, it is
very important parents provide us with a current colour
action plan (include a recent colour photo).
Asthma: If any child is known to have Asthma, it is
very important parents provide us with a current action
plan and bring medication to the centre each day.
Medication can only be administered by staff with
written permission and medication that has been
prescribed by a doctor. Over the counter medications
such as panadol and cough medicine will only be
administered if accompanied by a doctor’s letter.
Should your child require medication, you will be
required to complete a medication authorisation form
at the centre.
Special needs
All children are welcome to participate in this program.
However, if your child has special needs, we ask they
be available for an assessment at least four weeks
prior to the start of the program to help us ensure
adequate staff, funding and other resources are
available to support their requirements. Please contact
the Leisure Coordinator on 9424 0000 to arrange
an assessment. Spaces for children, including those
with additional needs, may be limited due to factors
including staffing requirements, centre capacity and
availability of government subsidies.
Parent handbook
