Kids Klub<br />

We have two Kids Klub services, West Pymble and<br />

St Ives. These facilities provide mainly centre-based<br />

care, recommended for children aged 5 - 9 years<br />

(but open for children aged 5 - 12 years). Children<br />

participate in a wide variety of fun, planned, ageappropriate<br />

activities, supervised by experienced<br />

staff in a safe and ca<strong>ring</strong> environment. The program<br />

also offers up to three excursions within the Sydney<br />

metropolitan area each week.<br />

Recommended age: 5 - 9 years<br />

Standard hours: 7.45am - 6pm<br />

Daily fee: $40 + excursion and workshop costs<br />

(compulsory on workshop and excursion days)<br />

<strong>Ku</strong>-<strong>ring</strong>-<strong>gai</strong> <strong>Council</strong>’s School Holiday <strong>Program</strong>s offer children aged 5 - 14 years a<br />

wide variety of arts, crafts, games, sports, excursions and educational experiences<br />

du<strong>ring</strong> the NSW DET School Holidays. We have age-appropriate programs and<br />

activities in a safe, secure and ca<strong>ring</strong> environment with staff supervision at all times.<br />

Kids Getaway<br />

Kids Getaway is recommended for children aged<br />

9 - 14 years. It provides excursions to a variety of<br />

different locations around Sydney and beyond,<br />

supervised by experienced staff. There are also<br />

centre-based activities and workshops including arts<br />

and crafts, sport, table tennis, videos, music, board<br />

games, Play Station, pool table, Wii and more!<br />

Recommended age: 9-14 years<br />

Standard hours: 7.45am - 6pm<br />

days as they have the option of visiting the St Ives<br />

Shopping Village to buy lunch. Staff will encourage<br />

How will I know if my<br />

Terms and Conditions<br />

Arrivals/departures<br />

It is a legal requirement that parents sign their child in and out<br />

each day. Children will only be permitted to leave the centre<br />

when accompanied by an adult nominated on the enrolment form.<br />

Written notification is required to allow another person to collect<br />

your child.<br />

Sun protection<br />

We have a No Hat No Play policy. Please ensure you send your<br />

child to the centre with a hat, closed-in shoes and suitable sunsafe<br />

clothing, i.e. t-shirts that cover the back and shoulders.<br />

Children are required to wear a rash shirt at all times when<br />

swimming. Staff are not permitted to apply sunscreen unless<br />

written permission has been given by parents (permission on<br />

enrolment form).<br />

Refunds and cancellations<br />

No refunds or credits are available unless a medical certificate is<br />

provided. Excursion and workshop costs are non-refundable.<br />

Late collection fees<br />

Parents arriving to collect their child after 6pm will be charged<br />

a late fee of $1 per minute per child. If the child has not been<br />

collected by 6.15pm the parent will be charged an additional fee<br />

of $2 per minute per child until the child is collected.<br />

Meals<br />

Morning/afternoon tea and lunch are not provided unless<br />

specified in the program. Children should b<strong>ring</strong> adequate food<br />

and drinks for the day. Products containing nuts are not permitted.<br />

Excursions and centre workshops<br />

• Places are limited as we have higher staff-to-child ratios on<br />

excursions. All excursions and workshops are compulsory<br />

unless stated otherwise.<br />

• Children must be at the centre by 8.30am on excursion days.<br />

• We have the following staff to child ratios in place:<br />

- Kids Klub: 1:10 for non-water, 1:6 for swimming at West<br />

Pymble Pool, 1:5 for swimming<br />

- Kids Getaway: 1:12 for non-water excursions, 1:8 for<br />

swimming<br />

• Risk Assessments are completed for all excursions and are<br />

available in centres or upon request.<br />

• <strong>Program</strong>s, excursions and workshops may be changed<br />

to accommodate adverse weather conditions or due to<br />

unforeseen circumstances. Changes will be noted near the<br />

parent sign in/out area, as soon as possible.

Allergies and medications<br />

Parents are required to inform us of any allergies<br />

or medications their child has when enrolling and<br />

registe<strong>ring</strong> at the centre. Parents are requested to<br />

explain known triggers and symptoms to help us<br />

recognise and treat allergies or conditions. Efforts will<br />

be made to avoid exposure to the known cause.<br />

Anaphylaxsis: If any child is known to have a nut<br />

or anaphylactic reaction or episode to any allergy, it is<br />

very important parents provide us with a current colour<br />

action plan (include a recent colour photo).<br />

Asthma: If any child is known to have Asthma, it is<br />

very important parents provide us with a current action<br />

plan and b<strong>ring</strong> medication to the centre each day.<br />

Medication can only be administered by staff with<br />

written permission and medication that has been<br />

prescribed by a doctor. Over the counter medications<br />

such as panadol and cough medicine will only be<br />

administered if accompanied by a doctor’s letter.<br />

Should your child require medication, you will be<br />

required to complete a medication authorisation form<br />

at the centre.<br />

Special needs<br />

All children are welcome to participate in this program.<br />

However, if your child has special needs, we ask they<br />

be available for an assessment at least four weeks<br />

prior to the start of the program to help us ensure<br />

adequate staff, funding and other resources are<br />

available to support their requirements. Please contact<br />

the Leisure Coordinator on 9424 0000 to arrange<br />

an assessment. Spaces for children, including those<br />

with additional needs, may be limited due to factors<br />

including staffing requirements, centre capacity and<br />

availability of government subsidies.<br />

Monday 15 April: Fun Day WITH BABY CHICKENS<br />

Join us on the first day of the <strong>holiday</strong>s for some fun-filled in-centre arts, craft, games and<br />

sports including scooby doos, face painting, crazy hair styles and paper plane making.<br />

We also have the eggs from Living Eggs Hatching arriving. Today we set up the incubator and watch<br />

them hatch! How many chickens will there be? How long will they take to hatch? Name the baby chicks<br />

competitions and more. Don’t miss a fun-filled first day.<br />

Tuesday 16 April: WizzyWorld<br />

Kids’ Choice today as we travel to one of Sydney’s biggest and best indoor play centres.<br />

Hang around in the ball pit, swing down the flying fox and slip and slide the 3 level astro slide,<br />

or kick it out in the sports zone. We will also have special access to the Karaoke room.<br />

Come prepared to get messy today (b<strong>ring</strong> a paint shirt or clothes that can get dirty). We have the team<br />

from Supreme Incursions coming to keep us busy as we rotate through a variety of fun and messy art<br />

activities. Sponges, paint sprayers, playdough, golf balls as well as hands and fingers are all used to<br />

create a bunch of messy masterpieces. Come prepared to get stuck into some colourful and messy fun!<br />

Thursday 18 April: GET UP AND GET ACTIVE<br />

Today we get up and get active as we have FitKids coming for a two-hour get-active workshop. Be like<br />

the Gladiators on TV and go into battle a<strong>gai</strong>nst your mates. Gladiators have one or more addictive battle<br />

type fitness games every session. Get FIT, be XCITED and have fun! We will refuel in the afternoon with<br />

a healthy afternoon tea of carrot, celery sticks, biscuits, fruit and dips. Don’t forget we still have the baby<br />

chickens from Living Eggs to look after - pat and feed them, build them a play pen, and take them outside<br />

Friday 19 April: ‘All washed up’ at the NARRABEEN CEC<br />

Love Adventure? Keen for a challenge? Join us for our junior version of Survivor. Kids navigate their way<br />

We will also learn some other great games and activities planned to keep us busy all day long at the<br />

Narrabeen Coastal Environment Centre.<br />

pasta creations, make piklets, and more! Don’t forget we still have the baby chickens from Living Eggs<br />

to look after - pat and feed them, build them a play pen, and take them outside for a play!<br />

Tuesday 23 April: Gymnastics and Trampolining at Sydney Olympic Park<br />

Get ready to bounce, spin, roll, twist and turn as we travel to the State Sports Centre for a trampolining<br />

and gymnastics workshop. See where the Olympians train and pick up some hot tips from the qualified<br />

and professional coaches. We will then enjoy some free time at Blaxland Riverside Park. These unique<br />

new play spaces provides challenges and adventures for children of all ages. Lose yourself in the<br />

wormhole net, test your skills on the climbing wall , try out the double slide, or race your friends on the<br />

double flying fox.<br />

Today we are challenging our way throughout some of Sydney’s top sports as we split<br />

into teams for another Getaway hunt challenge. At our first stop we rise above the Sydney<br />

Skyline at Sydney Tower, can you spot Sydney’s top spots or can you tell me how far away Cronulla is?<br />

Back down the tower and enjoy one of the last rides around the Sydney Loop on the Sydney Monorail<br />

before it closes down. We will then refuel with our favourite all-you-can-eat Pizza Hut.<br />

Thursday 18 April: Billy Carts Fun with Supreme Incursions<br />

Come prepared for some fun as we are involved in a rotation of activities providing the skills and<br />

knowledge needed to safely build and drive a Billy Cart. We will be designing and constructing a Billy<br />

Cart from start to finish using different materials and we will learn to drive a Billy Cart safely. Du<strong>ring</strong> the<br />

Incursion we learn by following step-by-step instructions using tools, driving techniques, knot tying, force<br />

and motion. A fantastic hands-on session! Kids will have time to purchase lunch at St Ives shops.<br />

Friday 19 April: Indoor Rock Climbing AND Trivia challenges<br />

Get ready to climb as high as you can, as we visit Northern Beaches Rock house for some<br />

indoor climbing, boulde<strong>ring</strong> and traversing fun, can you make it to the top? We then return to the<br />

centre for a busy afternoon with the Autumn Getaway Trivia Challenges. Will your team win the Golden<br />

Boot award? We will also have big screen movies and table tennis challenges in the afternoon.<br />

Ensure you complete a waiver if attending on this day.<br />

Kids Getaway week 2<br />

Monday 22 April: Silly Science AND Big Screen Movies<br />

Come prepared for some fun as we are divided into smaller groups and sent on a rotation of<br />

silly science fun and learning. Everyone gets hands-on as we are involved in a range of<br />

exciting experiments that include getting their hands amongst our Supreme Slime, making rockets take off,<br />

teasing their mind with optical illusions, spea<strong>ring</strong> a leak-proof bag and transforming magnets. It’s truly a great<br />

silly science experience for all students. We will then enjoy an afternoon with Wii challenges, big screen<br />

movies and badge making.<br />

Tuesday 23 April: Liverpool Ice Skate AND Mini Golf<br />

Today we travel to Liverpool Catholic Sports Centre for a busy day out. First stop is the<br />

mini golf course. How many holes-in-one can you get? After the round of mini golf we then<br />

cool down and escape the summer sun at the Liverpool Ice Rink. How many laps or tricks can you do?<br />

We will also be treated to a snack and a drink to re-fuel our bodies after a busy day. Please advise of dietary<br />

requirements<br />

spectacular Sydney from the Ferris wheel as we enjoy our all day lift pass.<br />

Today we travel to Sydney’s newest and biggest outdoor adventure playground, Blaxland<br />

Riverside Park. This unique new play space provides challenges and adventures for children of all ages,<br />

lose yourself in our wormhole net, test your skills on the climbing wall , try out the double slide, or race your<br />

friends on the double flying fox. This is going to be an active and exciting day out as we have some team<br />

games as well as a tasty sausage sizzle. Once we are all played out we will return to the centre for some fly,<br />

nukem ball, giant twister and pick-up-sticks challenges. Please advise of dietary requirements.<br />

B<strong>ring</strong> your scooters and helmets if you want to cruise around on some of the pathways throughout the<br />
