Activities
Headquartered in Kuwait City, KUFPEC has been actively involved in overseas oil and gas exploration and production investments and
operations. The Company employs 214 people working in both head office and global operations.
Core Regions
KUFPEC’s global assets stretch from West Africa to the Far East and from Australia to the North Sea. The Company is currently active in 13
countries, with 51 international upstream projects grouped within four core regions across four continents:
Africa Region
Egypt – South Sudan – Tunisia – Mauritania – Congo – UK North Sea
The continent of Africa with its vastly underexplored potential and strategic position in the world energy market is home to five key
countries in which KUFPEC has producing or exploration interests.
KUFPEC has been present in Africa since the Company’s inception. It remains committed not only to helping host countries meet their
energy needs but to boosting export earnings and contributing to the welfare of local communities.
Today, KUFPEC is active in Egypt, South Sudan, Tunisia, Mauritania and Congo. Suitable opportunities continue to be actively pursued
across the continent.
Middle East Region
Pakistan – Yemen
The Middle East Region continues to be the largest producing region for KUFPEC with average net production of 42,921 boepd during
2012 from two countries: Pakistan and Yemen. KUFPEC participates in seven producing assets and three exploratory blocks within these
two countries.
In 2012, KUFPEC acquired the highly prospective Jati Block in Pakistan and will operate the exploration and development phases of this
Block. A successful discovery in the Badhra gas field of Pakistan resulted in net increased production of 17 MMscfpd and net reserve
addition of about 100 BCF (16.7 million boe). Drilling in the Kadanwari gas field resulted in net increased production of 11 MMscfpd from
F Sands.
In Yemen, KUFPEC is aggressively participating in the development of Block 10 with 13 delineation wells to Basement. KUFPEC is
participating in building a 50MW cogeneration power plant to use natural gas that would otherwise be flared or re-injected in Yemen. In
addition to conventional deeper targets on existing fields, KUFPEC is evaluating unconventional plays of Tight Sand Gas and Shale Gas.
