‣ The e-survey <strong>in</strong>cluded 41 questions <strong>and</strong> was adm<strong>in</strong>istered onl<strong>in</strong>e through Survey<br />
Monkey.<br />
‣ To address differences <strong>in</strong> perception, the terms <strong>in</strong>ternational programm<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong><br />
<strong>in</strong>ternational cultural exchange were used synonymously.<br />
‣ An attempt to beg<strong>in</strong> to benchmark activity lent itself to us<strong>in</strong>g both multiple-choice<br />
<strong>and</strong> open-ended questions.<br />
‣ Responses to all questions were not required. Those required are <strong>in</strong>dicated by an<br />
asterisk. (See <strong>Cultural</strong> <strong>Exchange</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>International</strong> Programm<strong>in</strong>g Survey.)<br />
‣ Discrim<strong>in</strong>at<strong>in</strong>g levels for budgets <strong>and</strong> organizational capacity <strong>in</strong>puts were<br />
established after data collection.<br />
‣ Some l<strong>in</strong>es of <strong>in</strong>quiry (e.g. audiences <strong>and</strong> organizational capacity) did not yield<br />
enough specific <strong>in</strong>formation to establish clear f<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>gs <strong>and</strong> are therefore not<br />
<strong>in</strong>cluded <strong>in</strong> f<strong>in</strong>al survey conclusions.<br />
‣ Some artists felt that the questions were not very applicable to them as <strong>in</strong>dividuals.<br />
‣ F<strong>in</strong>al survey results were restricted to one response per U.S.-based organization or<br />
artist.<br />
‣ 2 non-U.S. based organizations (GULP, <strong>and</strong> Détournement) participated but<br />
their responses are not <strong>in</strong>cluded <strong>in</strong> f<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>gs.<br />
‣ The Ohio Arts Council <strong>and</strong> the New Engl<strong>and</strong> Foundation for the Arts provided<br />
multiple responses. Data from each was consolidated <strong>and</strong> any discrepancies<br />
were clarified through direct follow-up with the organization.<br />
