Omega initiation in the beautiful, historic Wren Chapel<br />
received other benefits as well. We began<br />
to offer tutoring sessions each week for<br />
Greek and Latin students at the college,<br />
and offered to provide tutors to local high<br />
school students as well. Working together<br />
with the President of the school’s Classical<br />
Civilizations club, we held Homerathons<br />
(events during high traffic weekends such<br />
as Homecoming and Parents’ Weekend<br />
where participants could read out their<br />
favorite ancient work in either Greek,<br />
Latin or English), brought Dr. Paul Allen<br />
to the school to give a talk on Horatian<br />
Satire, and rallied the Classics Department<br />
for an end of the year banquet. In April<br />
we added quite a few new members to our<br />
ranks during our annual Initiation, one<br />
of whom — Mr. Kevin Furlong — will be<br />
replacing me as the leader of the Chapter,<br />
to work alongside our wonderful advisor<br />
(and editor of the NUNTIUS) Dr. Georgia<br />
Irby. In summation, we are back and stronger<br />
than ever, and I look forward to seeing<br />
you all at the next National Conference.<br />
Alpha Eta at the University of Michigan<br />
We have continued strong during the<br />
2011–<strong>2012</strong> school year, with the network<br />
between undergraduates, graduate<br />
students, faculty and staff increasing. This<br />
report lists the highlights of our programmatic<br />
year. Our calendar included an event<br />
or general purpose meeting each week<br />
school was in session. We also held officers<br />
meetings on a bi-weekly basis for planning<br />
and managing logistics.<br />
These events are reported here by<br />
Stephanie Hutchings and Brianna Bloxsom,<br />
the Prytanis and Hyparchos of the<br />
Alpha Eta chapter.<br />
Other officers were Sophia Reini<br />
(Grammatea), Dylan Rustenholtz (Chrystophylax),<br />
