Occasional Care
Fees
Hobsons Bay City Council sets the fees. Fees are
charged per session per child.
Reduced rates apply for families with more than
one child attending a session or parents with a
current Health Care Card.
What do I need to bring to Occasional
Care for my child?
• Lunch for children attending a morning session
• A bag with a spare set of clothes
• Favourite toy or comforter
• Coat and gum boots in winter
• Sunhat and sunscreen in summer.

Occasional Care

Hobsons Bay City Council operates occasional
care for all families of Hobsons Bay who require
care for a child under six years of age.
How can I access this service?
Once registered with the service families can
telephone on a weekly basis and book into
a session.
A waiting list is utilised and families may be
contacted if a place becomes available for a
child to attend.
An enrolment form must be completed prior
to a child attending a session and handed in
to the program leader.
Care Is Provided For:
• Children to socialise with their peers
• Parents to take a break
• Parents to attend appointments
• Parents who work part-time.
What Is Provided?
• Professional, qualified and experienced staff
• Indoor and outdoor program
• Relaxed environment for the children
• Range of activities to cater for children aged
from birth to school age
• Nutritional snacks for morning tea.

• To provide children with a warm secure,
stimulating and responsive environment
• To provide children with the opportunity to
build their self esteem by making choices,
and providing positive interactions with adults
and their peers
• To respect each child as an individual, allowing
children to develop to their maximum potential
• To treat all children equally
• To provide an unbiased and developmentally
appropriate program that stimulates
curiosity and allows for children to learn
through their play
• To allow children the opportunity for
responsibility ensuring they feel they are
belonging and contributing to the environment
