“Friends of STM” and “Partners of STM”: Can you introduce STM to friends
and churches to donate to STM?
As a “Friend”, the person commits to donate at least RM300 per year to
the ministry. For “Partners”, the churches will give a sum of RM1000 or
more per year. Pray that more people can support the ministry of STM.

Rev Tan Jin Huat and Miss Christabel Wong will represent STM at the Consultation on
Documentation of Christianity in Malaysia and Singapore (A Joint Consultation between Sibu
Methodist Theological Seminary, Sabah Theological Seminary, STM and CSCA, TTC, Singapore)
on 7-9 June 2006 at TTC.
Rev Dr Solomon Rajah will be away in Port Dickson on 2-6 June to celebrate the 40 th Anniversary
of Junior Ministry of Evangelical Lutheran Church of Malaysia.
Pastor Chew Kean Kee: Cameron Highland for church leaders and pastors’ retreat on 5-7 June.
Rev Joseph Komar will be attending Methodist Tamil Annual Conference Pastors’ School in Ipoh
on 5-7 June.
Miss Sarah Yap will be leaving to Capetown, South Africa for the World Evangelical Alliance
Mission Consultation Summit on Missionary Training on 16-26 June.

Aldersgate Day (24 May) – To commemorate the unique spiritual experience of John Wesley, the founder
of Methodism, in 1738. Methodist churches usually hold services to celebrate Wesley’s “heart strangely
warmed” experience.
Ascension Day (25 May) marks the last earthly appearance of Christ after his resurrection. Christians
believe Christ ascended into heaven. It is celebrated 40 days after Easter. It recalls the disciples’ experience
when Jesus Christ was taken up into heaven after the resurrection from the Mount of Olives. The event
confirms his universal victory over death and the unity of earth and heaven.
Pentecost Sunday (4 June) - The seventh Sunday after Easter, commemorating the descent of the Holy
Spirit upon the disciples and the birth of the Christian Church.
Trinity Sunday (11 June) - The first Sunday after Pentecost. Christians meditate on the nature of God as
“Three in one”.
