Vacuum-Jet – acting naturally. 1 <strong>Prosthetics</strong> 1.6 Liners and Locking Devices The new vacuum system is integrated in the distal prosthetic socket. It aims to improve adhesion between the prosthetic interface and the residual limb. Special features of the Vacuum-Jet: The Vacuum-Jet provides a temporary vacuum, thus the residual limb is not exerted to vacuum permanently and may relax in the non-weight bearing phases. The patient can definitely feel the improvement in comfort. 1 <strong>Prosthetics</strong> 1.6 Liners and Locking Devices Vacuum-Jet – acting naturally. The system is characterized by an air deflation jet which is inserted into an M 36 thread of a pyramid connector. This jet allows air deflation within the socket. The system does not only include the Vacuum-Jet, but also the new SoftSkin liner w/o distal attachment (SoftSkin S40 CL or SoftSkin S50 CL) as well as a proximal airtight knee sleeve. The system works perfectly for both, test- and definitive sockets. The fabrication set contains two different dummies for that purpose. Furthermore, there is an opportunity to easily retrofit an existing M36 socket connector to the new Vacuum-Jet system.
