UIL REGIONAL TRACK AND FIELD EVENTS - GENERAL INFORMATION - 2013<br />
REGION IV CONFERENCE 3A REGION IV CONFERENCE <strong>1A</strong>, DIVISION <strong>II</strong><br />
<strong>Track</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Field</strong> information packets will be available at the coaches meeting on Thursday, April 25, 2013.<br />
Location: Steinke Physical Education Center (SPEC) – Gym. 1 Block South of Javelina Stadium, Avenue B.<br />
5:00 pm -6:30 pm: Packet Pickup 6:30 pm: Coaches Meeting<br />
Packets will include: Heat & Lane Assignments<br />
<strong>Field</strong> Event Entries<br />
Schedule of Events<br />
Passes for Participating Schools <strong>and</strong> Competitors<br />
Relay Cards<br />
<br />
For schools not attending the coaches meeting on Thursday, April 25, 2013; packets may be picked up<br />
on Friday, April 26 <strong>and</strong> Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the main entrance ticket booth.<br />
I. CONTESTANTS:<br />
A. Competitor Check In will be at the south end of Javelina Stadium – opposite end of the<br />
scoreboard – outside of the track. Competitors will be escorted by flights to starting line.<br />
B. Athlete Warm-Up Area will be at the south end of Javelina Stadium – opposite end of the<br />
scoreboard – outside of the track. No warm-ups permitted on the track infield surface.<br />
C. Must remain in the st<strong>and</strong>s when not participating in event or warming up.<br />
D. <strong>Field</strong> Event Competitors check in at event site.<br />
E. Awards: Running Events & <strong>Field</strong> Events : The first, second <strong>and</strong> third place winners will report to the awards<br />
st<strong>and</strong> on the infield immediately after the conclusion of their event.<br />
F. <strong>Field</strong> Events: When a competitor has qualified in more than one field event:<br />
a. He/She must inform the official upon check-in<br />
b. Upon leaving one event to compete in another, he/she must inform the official of time leaving. Competitor<br />
has 10 minutes to return.<br />
c. Trial may be taken in succession.<br />
G. The Shot <strong>and</strong> Discus weigh-in station will be at the Clement Center (Weight Room), located at the North-East<br />
Corner of Javelina Stadium (Scoreboard End) Schedule for Implement Weigh-In:<br />
Friday, 7:00 am – 8:15 am – 3A Girls Discus Saturday, 7:00am-8:15am -3A Boys Shot<br />
Friday, 9:30 am-10:45 am – 3A Girls Shot, 3A Boys Discus<br />
Friday, 12:30 pm – 1:45 pm – <strong>1A</strong> Girls Discus, <strong>1A</strong> Boys Shot<br />
Friday, 3:00 pm – 4:15 pm – <strong>1A</strong> Girls Shot, <strong>1A</strong> Boys Discus<br />
All implements weighed will be impounded <strong>and</strong> only certified implements will be placed in the “pool” for<br />
competition. Athletes will be allowed to warm-up by flights prior to the start of competition, under the<br />
supervision of an official.<br />
H. Pole Vault: Competitor’s weight verification <strong>and</strong> pole inspections will conducted at the event site immediately<br />
prior to the competition. Disqualified poles will be impounded.<br />
I. No loud radios.<br />
J. Automatic timing system <strong>and</strong> video will be used for all running events.<br />
K. For running event prelims, athletes should judge their warm-up on events, not time.<br />
L. Designated uniform for throws participants is specified as a singlet uniform top.<br />
M. No cell phone usage or other wireless device used for communication will be allowed on the infield during<br />
competition.<br />
