Park West - (Continued from page 9)
On Dec 4th, an Ad Hoc East Mail Center Landscape Design
Meeting was conducted. Seventeen residents plus three board
members participated. The objectives were to discuss community
needs, review progress and submitted designs for the East Mail
Center, and to provide input for the Board of Directors to use in
seeking bids for this project. The group came to a consensus on
general design and budget. Several of the members agreed to work
with the board and a professional landscape designer after the
Holidays, to develop a plan that addresses their requirements. The Ad
Hoc group will reconvene to review the final plan before proceeding
to implementation. Park West HOA has contracted with Pearson
Landscape Services for front yard and common area maintenance
beginning January 1st. Detailed information will be mailed to each
homeowner in the very near future.
A walk around Park West can be very invigorating and reveals
a lot about our neighborhood. On today's walk we noted that out
of 173 homes, there is only one resale house available. Park West
is a popular place to call home! The desirability of living here is
enhanced by well kept homes and lawns, few parked cars, and friendly
neighbors! On the other hand, a walk reveals barking dogs that are a
nuisance. While their owners are at work, pets left in backyards and
courtyards often cause noisy disruptions in our neighborhood. If a
neighbor's dog is disturbing you, first talk with the owner. If the dog
remains a problem, call the City at 3-1-1, and Animal Control or the
Police will visit the owner. One also notices a few trash containers on
the street two days before pickup; this is inconsiderate and violates
Circle C rules. If bins concern you, call the Circle C office. They
will confirm the violation and send a letter to the home owner. Do
you remember the high winds in middle November? Trash bins and
recycle containers were blown everywhere! Several folks were unable
to find their bin and took what they could find on the street. How can
you identify your trash bin? Write down the serial number or put one
of your return address stickers under the lid. Being a pedestrian in
Park West makes one acutely aware of the number of automobiles
that are speeding on our streets. Please keep your speed below 20
mph on Park West’s narrow streets! Remember that children do play
and are not always as alert as we would like for them to be.
Finally, if you walk during cold weather, the water from lawn
sprinklers will freeze on the sidewalks! One resident slipped and
fell recently. Thankfully she was not injured, but this is the time of
year that water quickly becomes ice, and it is often impossible to tell
the difference visually. Please be careful as you walk and drive in
Park West, and have a Healthy New Year!
