New Motorway in Denmark
Silkeborg is located in Central Jutland Region, Denmark.
Landscape around the area is dominated by big lakes
and forests.To ease the traffic overload on road No.15
it was decided to build a new motorway from Silkeborg
to Aarhus. The road- and bridgework is scheduled to
be ready by 2016.
One of the contactors involved in the project is MT
Højgaard A/S, one of the leading contractors in the
Nordic countries. As a part of the big motorway project
MT Højgaard is in charge of a new bridge construction
over the Silkeborg Lake close to road 15 near Silkeborg.
The first step in building the bridge was to stabilize the
ground at the shoreline to enable cranes, which are
needed for the basement construction of the bridge
pillars, enter the job site. For this purpose MT Højgaard
used over 2000 timber piles up to 16 meters in length
and up to 300mm in diameter. This basement serves as
a bailey bridge for the construction machinery.
The timber piles were driven with Movax SP-70 Sidegrip
vibrator in combination with a drop hammer. The
cofferdam for the pillar basement is composed of double
sheet piles Type AZ 17-700 and 12 meter in length.
For the sheet piling MT Højgaard uses a Movax SP-70
mounted on a 34 ton excavator equipped with Movax
Automatic Steering system. Whilst piling, the excavator
is positioned on a pontoon.

Newest member of Movax-family, MLR-15, is made for
installation of tubular micropiles, H-piles or timber piles.
It is designed to meet the high position accuracy and
straightness demands for example at solar panel fields.
MLR-15 can use lightweight piling material because it
is able to take side-grip of pile close to ground level in
which case the flexibility of pile does not disturb the
driving process. Using lightweight piling material and
standard midi excavator for piling process reduces costs
of a micro piling project.
Movax MLR-15 can grip pile lying on the ground, lift it
up to vertical position, locate it and then drive it into
the ground with a straight linear movement. MLR-15
is easy to attach to standard excavators allowing easy
swap from carrier to another.
Side-grip clamps are quick change -type, which enables
fast change between different piling materials. There
are clamps available for steel tubes, H-beams and timber
piles. Customer can also request clamps for other
special pile profiles.

H-piles used for work bridges at mangrove
swamp
Project called Via Mangue in Brazilian city of Recife is one
of the biggest on-going infrastructure developments in the
country. When completed, a new elevated highway is opening
a new connection from southern Boa Viagem district to
main city of Recife.
Queiroz Galvão, main contractors for the project, is currently
constructing access roads and bridges at the southern end
of the motorway. Most of these are being built over swampy
river delta area only accessible on temporary work bridges.
Looking for faster methods to install H-beam foundation of
these structures, Queiroz Galvão acquired Movax Side-Grip
vibro which is also capable of extracting the piles when removing
the temporary bridges. An alternative method in use
is a drop hammer.
The temporary bridges are designed to carry loads up to 20
ton only, which limited their selection on piling machinery.
Movax SG-35 fitted to Komatsu PC160 LC was selected due
this limitation. Side-Grip pile driver is equipped with purpose
made side clamps to handle and drive required size H-piles.
Queiroz Galvão is internationally operating private owned,
Brazilian company. In addition to construction industry they
operate on many other sectors including oil, gas, steel and food.

Intermat 2012 in Paris
Movax models were widely presented
in Intermat, Paris, from 16th to 21st of
April. On our demo stand the operations
of Movax SP-70F4, Drill TAD-30S and
new Movax Impact Hammer IH-25d
were showed in action.
Although the rainy weather forced the
visitors from time to time inside the
halls, a wide range of professionals got
acquainted with our products. Also many
competitors seemed to be interested
in Movax and many of them were seen
taking close-up photos of presented
units –some even to close. One Chinese
manufacturer, who actually had a photo
ban on his own stand, had apparently
sent his own eager cameraman to our
Movax stand. But this is the name of
the competition nowadays –why do
yourself when you can take a shortcut
by copying. Except that Movax as a
machine is in that way complex that
copying is not so easy.
Intermat was one of the main exhibitions
of the branch this year and Movax
invested into it accordingly. Interest
towards our products is still on the rise.
Conexpo Russia in Moscow
ConExpo Russia at CCT, held from 29th
of May to 2nd of June in Moscow, was
from Movax point of view a success.
Russian markets are growing and Movax
has an excellent reputation amongst
the local entrepreneurs. Movax distributor
for Russia, OOO Larssen, had
invested on the exhibition and had a
big organizing team on site. According
to managing director Juri Rukin and
OOO Larssen Service´s director Viktor
Gorelov Russia is investing heavily
in improving its infrastructure in the
next few years. “ConExpo is already
one of the most important exhibitions
in Europe for us right after Bauma in
Germany”, states managing director of
Movax Oy Matti Mustonen. According
to Mustonen, Movax invests on Russian
market also by taking its special
needs into account in product design.
Autostrada-Polska in Kielce
Movax, and its distributor for Poland
AM-TEC Engineering, was for the first
time presented in Autostrada-Polska
exhibition from 8th to 11th of May.
The exhibition was well organized
and amount of visitors was also good.
Movax sales in Poland during the last
18 months have grown remarkably.
Visitors from Poland
A group of Polish construction entrepreneurs
visited Movax Oy´s factory in
Finland at the beginning of June. The
group was led by the Polish Movax
distributor Mr. Michal Adamiecki. During
the 2 days visit the guests learned
about the current product palette as
well as those Movax novelties just
entering the market.
Maskin Expo in Stockholm
Maskin Expo got this year a new location
on a former golf field outside Stockholm.
Exhibition area was probably the most
beautiful we had ever visited. During
the three opening days from 24th to
26th of May there were also a record
number of visitors
Movax brought its own excavator
along with main products range to
the demo stand. Sweden is a growing
market area for Movax and it will be
invested remarkably in the future as
well. There is plenty of space for new
Movax´s in Sweden.
