12 May 2011 The Jaguars Roar Lewes British Car Show NCJOC Members Takes Honors Take Honors at at Annual Delaware Event icturesque Lewes, Delaware’s annual British Car Show is always P a popular event with Club members, not only for its visitor friendly hospitality, historic interest and quaint shops and restaurants, but also its annual mixed marque British car show that attracts entrants from all along the eastern shore states. Morgan, MG, Lotus, Rolls Royce, Triumphs, WWII Land Rovers, you name it, along with a healthy representation of Jaguars, are among the one hundred or so vehicles typically on display. It’s a ’popular vote’ event sponsored by the Lewes Chanber of Commerce to raise funds for the town’s Historical Society. Jags compete side by side with marques from the same vintage years, which makes for some very interesting encounters. It’s a low pressure event and a nice way to start the driving season. Adjacent to Lewes’ Old Town and nearby outlet stores, shopping is great, too! The Powell’s XJS Convertible won 3rd in Class! Post lunch at the Narrow’s Inn en route. John Lars’s XJ Coupe was a first place winner This 1970 Series II E-type belongs to Lem Burnett and sports….. Ed Boyden’s magnificent Mark IX, a perennial win- ….a Club car badge from the 1970s
