Seventeen leaves only are present, comprising
eleven leaves of prognostication and six of
almanac. This almanac belonged to Bosanquet
and was attributed by him to Robert Moore as
only one entry was made by Roberts in the
Stationers' Register for an almanac during
1569-70, and that was for an almanac compiled
by Moore.

almanac by Frende. The word 'almanacke' on
the title-page is in xylograpbic t>pe.

Three almanacs by Harvey are recorded, this
being the only known copy for this year. This
copy has copious manuscript notes in various
sixteenth-century hands on blank leaves at
the end.

Two almanacs by Lloyd are recorded. One, for
London, 1582 and this for Shrewsbury, 1585.
The British Library now has the only known
copies of both.

The only known copy of the only recorded
almanac by Porter. The 'Berry' in the title may
be Bury St. Edmunds or Bury in Lancashire.
Bernard Capp in Astrology and the Popular Press
(London, Boston, 1979), notes that Porter was
unusual among Tudor compilers in that he
included a brief history of England. This
developed into the 'chronology' in later Stuart
almanacs.
