The Hymni divini of Baptista Fiera (1469-
1538 ?) had already been printed in his native
Mantua in 1515.
The printer Guidus de Bonazariis, a native of
Cremona, printed a book in 1518 'in the
province of Brescia', and almost certainly in the
Franciscan convent on the Isola di Garda near
Salo. Isola Dovarese is a village in the province
of Cremona. It is not known why de Bonazariis
set up a press there, apparently to print only this
one small book. There is a copy in Cambridge
University Library, where the date [1521] is
suggested as its year of publication.

Printed in italic, with crude woodcut borders on
the title-page and several woodcut initial capital
letters in the text.
Filippo Ardizzone was the first printer at
Ivrea, near Turin, where his earliest book may
have been Antonio Mancinello, Speculum de
moribus et officiis. May 1554. The British
Library had no book from this press until the
present acquisition.
