WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST<br />
Kennedy Center Honor for his lifetime<br />
contributions to American culture and excellence<br />
through the performing arts.<br />
TIM RICE (Lyricist) is an Academy, Golden<br />
Globe, Tony and Grammy award-winning<br />
lyricist. He is best known for his collaborations<br />
with Andrew Lloyd Webber, with whom he<br />
wrote Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor<br />
Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita and<br />
additional songs for the 2011 West End revival of<br />
The Wizard of Oz. His beloved film and theatrical<br />
work for Walt Disney Studios includes<br />
partnering with Alan Menken (Aladdin, Beauty<br />
and the Beast and King David) and Elton John<br />
(The Lion King and Aida). He recently<br />
completed the lyrics for his first new musical in<br />
ten years, From Here to Eternity (music by Stuart<br />
Brayson), based on James Jones’ 1951<br />
masterpiece. Knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in<br />
1994, Sir Tim Rice is also a cricket lover and an<br />
accomplished author.<br />
LINDA WOOLVERTON (Book) Linda<br />
Woolverton’s writing credits include the<br />
screenplay for the animated feature film Beauty<br />
and the Beast (Golden Globe winner and<br />
Academy Award Best Picture nominee); the<br />
screenplay for Homeward Bound: The<br />
Incredible Journey; screenplay for the animated<br />
feature film The Lion King; the book for the<br />
Broadway musical Beauty and the Beast (Tony<br />
Award nomination for Best Book of a Musical,<br />
winner 1998 Olivier Award Best New Musical);<br />
and book for Elton John and Tim Rice’s<br />
Broadway musical Aida. Also she has written<br />
two young-adult novels, Star-Wind and Running<br />
Before the Wind. She holds a Bachelor’s degree<br />
in <strong>Theatre</strong> Arts from California State University<br />
Long Beach and a Master’s degree in <strong>Theatre</strong><br />
from California State University Fullerton.<br />
ROBERT FALLS (Book) Robert Falls directed<br />
Long Day’s Journey Into Night (three 2003<br />
Tony® Awards, including Best Revival) as well<br />
as the 1999 Tony® Award-winning Death of a<br />
Salesman, for which he was honored as Best<br />
Director. His other Broadway credits include the<br />
Pulitzer Prize-winning The Young Man From<br />
Atlanta, The Speed of Darkness, The Rose Tatoo<br />
and The Night of the Iguana. Mr. Falls received<br />
an Obie Award for his direction of Eric<br />
Bogosian’s Suburbia at Lincoln Center. His work<br />
has also been seen at Manhattan <strong>Theatre</strong> Club<br />
and the Public Theater. As artistic director of<br />
Chicago’s Goodman <strong>Theatre</strong>, he has directed<br />
many productions, including Book Of The Night,<br />
Riverview and a major revival of Pal Joey, for<br />
which he wrote a new book. His opera credits<br />
include productions for Chicago’s Lyric Opera,<br />
the Metropolitan Opera, the Houston Grand<br />
Opera and the Grand Théâtre de Geneve.<br />
DAVID HENRY HWANG (Book) David<br />
Henry Hwang's plays include M. Butterfly (1988<br />
Tony Award, 1989 Pulitzer Finalist), Golden<br />
Child (1996 Obie Award, 1998 Tony<br />
Nomination), Yellow Face (2008 Obie Award and<br />
Pulitzer Finalist), and FOB (1981 Obie Award).<br />
His Broadway musicals include Flower Drum<br />
Song and Disney's Tarzan. As America's mostproduced<br />
living opera librettist, he has written<br />
four works with composer Philip Glass, as well<br />
as Osvaldo Golijov's Ainadmar (two 2007<br />
Grammy Awards), Unsuk Chin's Alice in<br />
Wonderland, and Bright Sheng's The Silver<br />
River. He penned the feature films M. Butterfly,<br />
Golden Gate, and Possession (co-writer), and cowrote<br />
the song "Solo" with pop star Prince.<br />
Hwang attended Stanford University and the<br />
Yale School of Drama. From 1994-2000, he<br />
served by appointment of President Clinton on<br />
the President’s Committee on the Arts and the<br />
Humanities. His newest play, Chinglish, opened<br />
at the Goodman <strong>Theatre</strong> in Chicago, before<br />
moving to Broadway in 2011.<br />
PETER ROTHSTEIN (Director) has directed<br />
50 mainstage productions for Theater Latté Da,<br />
including 8 world premieres. Other recent<br />
collaborations include the Guthrie Theater, The<br />
Children’s <strong>Theatre</strong> Company, Minnesota Opera,<br />
Illusion Theater, Ten Thousand Things and<br />
Seattle’s 5th Avenue <strong>Theatre</strong>. He is the creator of<br />
All Is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914 and<br />
Steerage Song, a new musical created in<br />
collaboration with Dan Chouinard. Peter has<br />
been named one of Minnesota’s Artists of the<br />
Year by the Star Tribune, Theater Artist of the<br />
Year by Lavender, and the Best Director by City<br />
Pages. He has been awarded four Ivey Awards<br />
for overall excellence and has received<br />
fellowships from the National Endowment for<br />
the Arts, <strong>Theatre</strong> Communications Group, the<br />
Minnesota State Arts Board and the McKnight<br />
Foundation. He serves as a board of director for<br />
the National Alliance for Musical <strong>Theatre</strong> and<br />
Alive and Kickin’. He holds a B.A. in Music and<br />
Theater from St. John’s University and a Master<br />
