Summer Camp 2010 Brochure - the International School of Belgrade

As a student-centered educational institution, the
International School of Belgrade (ISB) takes pride
in the fact that meeting each student's educational
needs is the primary concern of not only the
Faculty and Administration, but of every ISB staff
member. Through differentiated instruction, guest
speaker visits, fieldtrips, and various
extracurricular activities, students are immersed in
numerous opportunities to learn in and out of the
classroom.
The ISB Summer Camp program strives to meet
the needs of all campers, providing opportunities
to learn while playing through a range of outdoor
and indoor activities that promote various PYP
attitudes: appreciation, confidence, cooperation,
creativity, curiosity, respect, and tolerance. The
ISB Summer Camp is open to students of the
international and independent school
communities, and is beneficial to the newest
members of the ISB community. The camp allows
students to interact socially with their future
classmates during the summer and provides
additional support for English as Additional
Language learners, who will benefit from the social
interactions in English and start the new school
year with greater confidence.

The Program Objective:
The objective of the ISB Summer Camp is to give
campers an opportunity to be active and creative,
and learn and play outside of the academic
boundaries of the school year in a safe community
environment. At the end of the four week program,
students will come away with new skills,
experiences, and friendships. In order to ensure
that this objective is met, an assortment of outdoor
and indoor activities, that foster creativity and the
development of various skills, will be provided.

The Program Description:
Apart from participating in various on-campus
activities (gardening, natural science
experiments, sports, computer and arts and
crafts activities), campers will enjoy special guest
visits (clown visit, dancing lessons) and will have
an opportunity to work on collective projects.
Possible off-campus activities and excursions
include:
Belgrade Zoo
Wall Climbing
Belgrade Museums
Belgrade Planetarium
Igloo Ice Skating Rink
Red Star Stadium
Belgrade Hippodrome
Enchanted Castle Bounce House
All on-campus and off-campus activities will be
planned with safety and security in mind. It will
be a developmentally appropriate program. In
case of inclement weather, outdoor camp
activities will be modified to suit the weather
conditions.

ISB Summer Camp General Information:
ISB Summer Camp will run Monday through Friday
from June 21 to July 16, and is open to campers
ages 3 to 10 at the time of registration. Summer
Camp hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and
campers can register for one, two, three, or all four
weeks. The registration deadline is June 1, 2010.
Due to the high demand, we encourage early
registration.
All interested campers can register for the camp by
completing an on-line registration form that can be
found on the ISB website (www.isb.rs).
The Camp fee is $300 per week which covers the
costs of all on and off campus activities and
transportation.
Please note that all payments must be made to the
Business Office in the dinar equivalent calculated
on the base of the USD National Bank of Serbia
selling rate on the day of payment or as US checks.
Invoices will be sent to the families of all registered
campers after the registration deadline (June 1,
2009), and all payments must be made prior to the
beginning of Camp. Money is nonrefundable
unless there are extenuating circumstances.
The International School of Belgrade does not
provide accident insurance for the Summer Camp
participants who are not ISB students. If your child
is not an ISB student, please provide proof of
insurance for your child at the time of registration
by sending a copy of the policy electronically
toigrujicic@isb.rs or by providing the school with a
paper copy of the policy prior to the beginning of
Camp.

Third week July 5 – July 9
Fourth week July 12 – July 16
All campers should wear sport shoes and bring
their own sunscreen lotion to use daily. Since
snacks and lunch are not provided, please don't
forget to pack a lunch, snack, and drink for your
camper.
Our tentative plan is to provide campers with an
opportunity to go swimming each week. Please
make sure that your child brings a swimming suit
and towel on the day(s) they go to the pool.
Please note that, due to their young age and in
order to ensure the safety of all participants,
students age appropriate for Early Years and
PreKindergarten programs at ISB will not take part
in the swimming lessons.
