THE SAN DIEGO COUNTY PACKET RADIO VOICE NET meets on 146.730 mHz each<br />

Tuesday (except the 1st Tues. of the month) at 2100. This net is to<br />

provide information on Packet <strong>Radio</strong> for the beginner and the advanced<br />

packeteer. All are welcome. Paul, KBSMU, is net control station.<br />

THE SAN DIEGO COUNTY PERSONAL COMPUTER NET meets on 146.730 mHz each Wednesday<br />

evening (except for the 1st Wed. of the month) at 2100 to share information<br />

on computers. Chuck, KI6TG, is NCS, and he welcomes those with<br />

problems, information, questions, solutions, answers on any type PC.<br />

Leona Wallace, WA60HB, sends an ftexceptionalft postcard, taking exception<br />

to a remark in the Scope about ft no one ft reading the Scope since that makes<br />

her ft no one ft because she reads it cover to cover. Thanks, Leona.<br />

Mary, KB6NZA, reports the passing, in mid-October, of former club member<br />

Nate Hassel, K2RTQ. Nate was in poor health for some time.<br />

The January QST has all of the date, time, frequency information for<br />

contests and WlAW bulletin and code practice skeds in it. You might want<br />

to mark your calendar now - Field Day is 24~2S June.<br />

Ann Middleton certainly did a nice article on ham radio in the Sunday, 8<br />

Jan. Escondido Times-Advocate. She plainly did enough research to familiarize<br />

herself with the ham jargon. The only discrepancy I saw was flattering<br />

to me as I came out several years younger than the vital stats say I<br />

am. Ann took a lot of time and did plenty of asking and listening as she<br />

wrote. Thanks for the nice article and the time you took on it, Ann.<br />
