Mopar Madness has reached unmatched<br />
levels both at <strong>Carlisle</strong> and within the collector<br />
car hobby. With this weekend’s event,<br />
there are a few things you can do that make<br />
being a fan of the Mopar brand very easy. Meet<br />
celebrities — check; sit in on seminars led by industry<br />
professionals — check; be part of a showfi<br />
eld that hosts a few thousand of Detroit’s best<br />
— check; and shop for parts and accessories to<br />
help with either the upkeep or restoration of your prized<br />
ride — check!<br />
As the annual event goes, the world’s largest all-<br />
Mopar swap meet is a popular destination for enthusiasts,<br />
and one of its popular vendors is Herb Reynolds<br />
of Delaware and the purveyor of Herb’s Auto Parts.<br />
Herb and his parts have been coming to the Chrysler<br />
Nationals since its inception in 1991 and can be found<br />
this weekend in Row IA, Spaces 5-13 (same row as the<br />
Guest Services building).<br />
There are many great vendors here this weekend<br />
and Herb’s Parts is one of them, but what brought<br />
Herb here in the fi rst place and what keeps him coming<br />
back? “I’ve been at this event since day one and at<br />
<strong>Carlisle</strong> for a few years before that,” said Herb from his<br />
always-busy offi ce. “<strong>Carlisle</strong> is well known for all of its<br />
shows, not only the size and reach of them all, but the<br />
way each of them are so well-presented. What <strong>Carlisle</strong><br />
does works, and the people that have been coming to<br />
<strong>Carlisle</strong> have been very good to us over the years.”<br />
Might it be the parts themselves that draw the interest<br />
of those shopping the swap meet at <strong>Carlisle</strong>?<br />
Based on his web site promotion alone, it’s clear to see<br />
that Herb’s Parts are something special. According to<br />
www.herbsparts.com, “Herb’s Parts has been in business<br />
for more than 30 years, specializing in 1963–1974<br />
Chrysler, Plymouth and Dodge parts and accessories.<br />
Our goal is to continually expand the inventory for<br />
these cars and develop parts availability for others,<br />
along with keeping a large stock of quality parts at affordable<br />
prices on hand and shipping on the day the<br />
order is placed. We attend to each customer quickly,<br />
answering questions and fulfi lling restoration needs<br />
for your car. Herb’s Parts is not just a business, we love<br />
cars, just like you do!”<br />
All of that sounds good on paper (or online), but<br />
Herb’s Parts not only talks the talk, they walk the walk.<br />
With a great array of A-, B-, C- and E-Body parts as well<br />
as 2006–12 models and even truck accessories, Herb’s<br />
Parts believes that a great mix of supplies helps keep<br />
the people coming.<br />
“Not only do people come see us in droves at <strong>Carlisle</strong>,<br />
we see a lot of Web traffi c, too. I always encourage<br />
someone who interested in a part to pre-order, but I<br />
do advise at least two weeks’ notice,” Herb said. “In addition,<br />
if someone wants to buy on-site from us, they’ll<br />
see great show specials and, better yet, will save on<br />

shipping costs.”<br />
One of the more popular aspects of what Herb’s<br />
Parts does is their wall of carpet. This weekend, they<br />
have 100 sets of carpet and want you to stop by to<br />
see what works best for you. Herb continued by saying<br />
that, “The <strong>Carlisle</strong> Chrysler Nationals has become<br />
our biggest show, and we believe what makes us successful<br />
is not only our wide variety of parts, but our<br />
friendly customer service. We always have a smile on<br />
our faces. In fact, I want everyone to know that if they<br />
order online, there is a great chance that I’m smiling<br />
when I review their Web order.”<br />
